A friend of mine is a huge mustang fan, he has been working hard to build his 65 into a muscle car. I'd say he's had success ? it's a big block with twin turbos. Add another on the list to build in scale now...

Thanks Anthony. Your friend's Mustang looks great.

The exhaust and wheels have been fitted. I'm not sure why the instructions said to paint the rear suspension arms silver when those at the front are black but hey ho. I don't normally do weathering but in this case I gave the underside and exhaust a black wash.

The trim on the body has been painted and the lights and rear windows fitted.

Not much left to do now to gitter done.

Well I thought she deserved the Shelby treatment... err... well... uh... at least the stripes? They give it more of a muscle car vibe to me... I dunno? My plan was to do white lighting pearl stripes and I have a new can of it somewhere? I looked for it for 2 hours and gave up... Plain white it is... ? Anyways, I have to clean up some overspray here and there... then it's off to clearcoat!

Rollin on a couple of Stangs tonight!

Got the pulleys mostly finished. I hope I'm not far from getting paint on this, so I can move on to the chassis. I added bolts to the compressor head, too. You can also see the crank and alternator pulleys and the belt made from strip plastic.

The GTX is almost complete. Just some body trim and air cleaners. Next pics will be in Under Glass.

That color is awesome, and the model as a whole is really sharp! Nicely done!

Clearcoat is on, now all is left is cutting, polishing, and final assembly. I will be adding some decals at the end also... As an ancient philosopher once said... "Drive on" ?

I think this is all the foil done on the Corvette:

Looks like I have a much easier job with the glass this time than I did my the last two completions, just a well-shaped single moulding that fixes positively with plenty of overlap to glue/tape. Wasn't sure about the tint with the maroon colour, but the foil trim gives it some definition.

Paintwork needs a final buffing, it's suffered from being handled today.

Quick mock-up with the rolling chassis and interior, just to make sure there are no fitment issues. All good, I can now look to get the LT5 finally installed.

Nice progress... I have a simular color from Boyd's... I wanna use... kinda reminds me of Honduras maroon chevy color... The Cragers are timeless huh?

Thanks Anthony, yes those Cragars work on so many things, and look great here with the more modern, lower profile tyres as here (although still a bit of an odd choice on the Japanese kit they came with).

I made good progress on the Corvette yesterday, just about to update my WIP thread and I think it could see completion today.

I have another build posted in WIP Drag Cars, one that I started some time ago, Snake saw it and suggested I post it here. With the end of September deadline, I don’t think I can pull that off, so I started looking at some of my other stalled projects and came across my Revell Mustang Funny car that I started back in Augusta of 2005! Wow how time flies.....15 years ago....

This kit as many are aware has An incorrect roof, in that it’s rounded at the spoiler instead of flat. My original goal was to fix the roof and do the Shirley Muldowney F/C. I got the roof fixed and then the trouble started. Two failed paint jobs having to strip the body both times, and repaint it, then for the life of me I couldn’t get the Slixx decals on the car. Not the decals fault, I just was out of practice, and I could not get them to conform to the contours of the Ram Air hood. After exhausting two sets of decals, I tossed it back into the box.

May of 2018, I pull it out of the box and back into the purple pond. I have for some reason 3 sets of Slixx Trojan Horse decals and decided to try and save my hard work. I paint it black.

Again I try and get the decals on the body, and no luck. I even requested help from the guys here on the forum, and was given the suggestion to use a hair dryer. This helped tremendously, but I still had issues.

I ended up using all three sets, patching the decals with scraps left over and I proceeded to clear it with 2 part clear for model cars, the clear crinckeled some of the roof decal, dirt and the patch edges showed, so back in the box.

October 2018, my daughter and I redid a guitar and we painted it blue and I used my old faithful DuPont Chroma Clear for 1/1 cars, and I had some left over. I hate to waste this stuff it’s REAL expensive, so I remembered the mustang, and went and grabbed it. I didn’t even sand it, I tacked it off and gave it two really heavy coats. It looked pretty good.......

Sorry this is kinda long,

Reading is fundamental lol. I love the stories and particularly when they are written as well as you have here. And the guitar is fantastic! I have a blue electric guitar I need to redo it's red at the moment but I think the blue undeneith is in good condition. (Cromaclear) is at the top of my list of painting choices. The Dupont Chroma-base system is the best I've ever seen...

This JDM Cedric. It's not uncommon to see older models with them fitted, but a bit unusual for them to be seen on something from the '80s like this.

I've just come in from the shed to grab a celebratory cup of tea, as the Corvette is now good as finished, all bar finding a registration plate decal.

Busy day, sanded and polished paint on the body, metalizer aluminum on block and heads, intake and supercharger. I painted the tin work with some Testors spray enamel, Burgandy purple metal flake. Closest match that I had. I think it’s a pretty good match. I have reference material that shows this car with the frame painted a pink/ purple color, black, and gun metal. I chose the gun metal as I have too many with the black chassis, I didn’t want the pinky purple color so I went with the gun metal color.

I redid a guitar

You inspired me to get this old base out and redo it... So thanks! ? here it is, it's kinda rough but oh well I'll do my best...

My nephew was in a band in highschool and their colors were red and black so he took a perfectly good guitar apart and painted it this way... It was in my brother's building when he was moving, he was leaving it so it came home with me... I think I can get the paint off and polish it maybe touch it up here and there we'll see...

Okay, guitars are cool, but let's stay on topic here, fellas. Why not start a great guitar thread down in the Off Topic section? Thanks and model on! B)
