Snake45 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Welly 2007 GT500, $10 at Rite Aid. Maisto 2011 Boss 302, @ $12 at Hobby Lobby with coupon (kit). Both got the standard Snake-Fu touchup treatment. Had to do a little filing on the windshield of the Maisto 2011 to get it to pop into place, but otherwise, took less than 2 hours to build and detail the kit. Only problem with the Welly 2007 was the headlight covers. I decided to remove them and cut and polish off the mounting stem, and then had some moderate pain remounting them. Not sure it was worth the trouble but oh well, I did it. Didn't take any solo pics of the Maisto 2011 Boss because someone else already posted good pics of one here a few weeks ago. I like these both. $22 and change, maybe 4 hours total time, and I have two nice models on the shelf that I wouldn't have bothered to spend $30+ and 30+ hours each to build. And even if I did, mine wouldn't have looked much if any better than these. Good deal! As always, comments welcome.
vamach1 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 The Boss rear side windows look a little wonky but for $10 not too bad overall.
Gramps46 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 My collection envelope is more in the 50s and 60s but these are very tempting. Nice job on the Welly.

Geno Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I have the GT 500 and love it, been meaning to pick up a Boss 302, just haven't done it yet. Great score Rich.
djflyer Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Man...no nearby RiteAid OR Ollies...I'm sure missing the chance at some good stuff. Those do look really good. Did you check to see what they scaled out to? I'm always curious now that they have that 1/27-1/24 listing, and if I can swap parts with other kits.

I seem to recall checking the wheelbase on one of them because I thought it might be big, and it was right on the money for 1/24.
