I hate nitpicking movies like this, but to the best of anyone's knowledge, that particular event did not take place in Hill Valley. So if Marty wanted to witness the birth, he'd not only have to travel back in time, he'd have to then get to the other side of the world.

Ugh. I absolutely love everything about this movie, but it's so easy to pick apart the gaping plot holes and inconsistencies. lolz.

Good luck getting a contractor out on Christmas to board that up....

Well technically...there is a carpenter there. Although His skills are maybe not quite developed yet.

I lie the diorama though. Ties in with my sense of humour very well. :)

Very true, the time machine could only travel through time,  not space and time. In other parts of the movie trilogy they have holes like this, such as when Doc says he’d probably be burned at the stake as a heretic if he landed in the dark ages. Probably true, but not in the Hill Valley area, in the dark ages.

But, running into a tree from long ago was a legitimate concern.

Still love those movies!

Wonder how far the Delorean could fly before needing a Mr Fusion refill?

And what kind of garbage would you be able to find to refill it? It's not like you have any wrappers or containers. I guess if you were lucky, you could find organic waste. But still.

In the second (I think?) film Doc throws a banana skin into the Mr Fusion...but I kind of remember that it only powered the time circuits anyway?  What DID power the hover conversion that made the car fly?  Intriguing...

To push the nitpicking further, the earth spins on it's axis, orbits the sun, etc., If you went back in time, what if the earth was at a different point in it's rotation, or the earth was in a different spot in it's orbit? Would you end up in the middle of the ocean? In deep space? It is almost unthinkable that you would end up in the same spot with all the movement going on.
