Blu_Hawke Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I need to get a set of their Pontiac Dog Dish hubcaps but I'm having a little trouble finding them. Thanks.
cooltoys1 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Thats the "infamous" Wendell Sowers of AFX N Scale Resin Co. Its best to STAY AWAY! Long history of poor business practices and the like. If you send them money, treat it more like a donation than a purchase, youll never get your items. Even through the legitamacy and cushyness of ebay, ill almost guarantee you will not recieve your item(s) You can obviously do what you please, but there have been long discussions here and on "the other" board regarding these people. Best of luck my modeling friend. If i knew where else to get those caps i would steer you to them. Jay
Eshaver Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I need to get a set of their Pontiac Dog Dish hubcaps but I'm having a little trouble finding them. Thanks. Blu, I was in Winston Salem North Carolina thjis past week-end I spoke to the owner of Time Macine resin on several subjects. Isaw som Cadillac wheel covers there that while they are " Full " covers It seems to me that you could convert them to you're needs. What you're show ing isn't too much different than the Cadillac covers Time Machine resins address is 773 Fitzpatrick Road Nashville Tennesee 37214 or go to timemachineresin@comcast.net or timemachineresin.bravehost,com/ EdShaver
Zoom Zoom Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 And amazingly enough...they're back on Feebay again this week, with a new name and only a feedback score of 2. BEWARE! They have taken money from a ton of people who have never gotten their items. They've been kicked off of Feebay multiple times. Those dogdishes are much, much smaller than Cadillac sombrero full wheelcovers.
MrObsessive Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Thanks for the heads up guys! I had noticed those poverty caps too and was thinking about getting 'em! I swear folks stare at the ceiling at midnight------------beating the back of their hands against the headboard, wondering how to beat you and I out of our money!
gasman Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I almost bid on there 71 Demon this week. then I remembered who they where, i'll stay away from them. i'd be better just getting one of those resin Demons from Model Roundup.
Dan Helferich Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 You know the real sad thing here is that the products they produce are well done and many are only done by them.
Dan Helferich Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I wasn't done , what I was going to say was , I bought some things from them at a show a few years ago and they are nice products. However, if you pay and never get them it doesn't matter how nice the parts are.
Willy Survive Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Blu are those the same (or close to the same) dogdishes that are in the AMT Pontiac 421 SD? If you could use them send me a pm. By the way Ebay Sucks !!! -Will
Fuel Coupe Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Just my 2 cents. I think I bought from this guy under the name xcytabl36. I actually made two seperate purchases from him: one by m.o. and the other by Paypal. He even held off shipping the items so we could combine shipping them. I was very pleaseed with the parts I got. fast and acurate. I dont know you guys tell me if its him. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270258626236 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270259385116
Ayatollah Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 The feedback is way too good.......can't be him
sfhess Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I bought a set of wheels from AFX nScale a few years back with no problems. I guess things have changed since then. Too bad, they had a nice selection of stuff and the quality is good.

You can also find him here to this is his new ebay name http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsilegran54gn or try here too http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZtangtang2QQhtZ-1 good luck in your finds. You and everyone else is looking for him. It's sad he has a great product I've used all his resin rims for my builds and I've gone and used other resin casters rims, but to me his are the best by far. I should have bought stock of them o'well.......................
Starliner Kustoms Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) I'd swear that you might be able to adapt a pop rivet head for metal caps with a little work. They just about have the same shape. Bernie Edited September 22, 2008 by Starliner Kustoms
Ricks Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Has anyone been to Afx's website lately.. Theres a message there about new ownership.. Anyone have any word on this??
Ronster Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Has anyone been to Afx's website lately.. Theres a message there about new ownership.. Anyone have any word on this?? "A/FX N Scale Resin has been sold to another proprietor. When he gets everything set up where he can work I'm sure he will set up another web site. He will also take care of any old order's." That's a pretty tall order in itself. You think "he" realizes the scope? I know I'm all in with AFX for $95.00. And will we be able to find the new site?
