gbdolfans Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Hi, I have tried to find a Pantera with engine. All I find are the Fugimi kits. Is there one that is not curbside?? Thanks in advance, George
Oldcarfan27 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 If you're into scratchbuilding, you could find a Ford 351 Cleveland engine (70 Mach 1?) and build one. The Tilt kit (Marui) has an opening hatch and rudimentary engine detail, but at least it's a start.
afx Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) Not aware of any full detail kit. I have the Tilt kit and the engine bay is designed to hold a battery powered electric motor. Edited January 1, 2019 by afx
afx Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) The Fujimi/Testor kits are similarly designed. Edited January 1, 2019 by afx
vamach1 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) The short answer is no but there is an expensive Mangusta kit with an engine someone posted a link to on the Forum a while back. Just having the rear suspension and gearbox would be a good start as the rest could be scratchbuilt and the engine could come from the 70Mach1. Edited January 1, 2019 by vamach1 Pics
djflyer Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 A detailed engine bay conversion is another possible use for 3d printing. I sent some suggestions to Randy for his start-up 3D printing business, engine bays being one of them. How many of you would buy a conversion kit - inner fenders, subframe, suspension, small detail pieces, and driveline (possibly optional) - if offered for the Pantera?

I would but at least 1 as long it was for the testers kit.
426 pack Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) What about putting a pantera body on a revell 2017 Ford gt40 frame and engine? Is there any model company still making the pantera or would I have to find one on eBay? Edited January 2, 2019 by 426 pack

Ben Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I remember doing some engine work on one of those. When I went to test drive it, I had to get on my knees to get in it! (I’m 6’6”) it was fun to drive, little short throw shifter, tight handling. You could really feel and hear that engine right behind you!
torinobradley Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 70 Mach I for the engine, Shelby Series 1 for the ZF, scratch or source the rest from similar running gear.
