Brudda Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I have a question about flocking. What glue or adhesive does one use?
RichCostello Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Use Elmers white glue, thinned with water for flocking. I prefer embossing powder, it sticks to wet paint really good, and comes in a lot of cool colors, or you can paint it, and it looks great(not as fuzzy).
cobraman Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I use white glue also and then use a pepper or salt shaker to sprinkle on the flocking.
John Pol Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I have used future with the embrossing powder and it works
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 White glue for me as well. Slightly thinned. I believe that you will be happier using embossing powder to replicate automotive carpet as Rich stated. Steve
stitchdup Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I use enamel paint in the same colour as the flock, but the flock i use is also shorter than most of the hobby packs (longest strands of flock I have is half a milimetre). I can also get it colour matched to paint if anyone is looking for matched colours for anything
tbill Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 I’ve used 3M spray glue , then sprinkle the flock on. Depending on color, I may paint close to same color on surface before hand.
cowboy rich Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 White glue for me also, and I normally do as has been mentioned and paint the base close to the same color.
gtx6970 Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 I just paint it a like color as the flocking and sprinkle away . Had zero issues Had one i used white glue pull loose at the edges after a while
