landman Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 (edited) This will be my entry for the 2019 build off. It will be a Paystar heavy hauler with crane like the one shown. The Paystar will be from the mixer kit, the mixer itself having gone to another home. The crane is the KFS item. The sleeper will likely come from the 4300 kit. Edited October 26, 2020 by landman

Rusty92 Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 The paystars are a good looking rig. How do you like the KFS crane? Been looking at their stuff.

KFS stuff is very well made. I had stsrted it for another project but used some thing else. I’ll show it tomorrow.
stitchdup Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Another tuff looking truck, will be watching

landman Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) Added the rear suspension, tank supports. Tried the cab bottom, sleeper bottom and the crane base on for size. I think my chassis is long enough. Edited October 26, 2020 by landman

landman Posted February 7, 2019 Author Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) Added air line fittings. I promise they will get straightened. These are the wheels I am planning to use. Edited October 26, 2020 by landman
tbill Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Looking good! What do you use for the air line fittings?
landman Posted February 7, 2019 Author Posted February 7, 2019 35 minutes ago, tbill said: Looking good! What do you use for the air line fittings? They are #2 crimp beads. I probably should use hex seed beads.
tbill Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Thanks, I’ll file that in my list of stuff to get and actually try someday lol. Gotta make a hobby lobby run for supplies, I’ll look for them while there.
landman Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 (edited) Started playing with the air lines. I see I forgot the fittings at the junction block. Also, there is this in the kit which looks like it is either optional or extra. Looks like a very heavy duty rear axle. Edited October 26, 2020 by landman
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I told you that you'd be teaching me something. Those fittings and valves look great!
landman Posted February 9, 2019 Author Posted February 9, 2019 (edited) Thought I'd start on the engine. Found everything except the block and front cover. I remembered trading the mixer but not the engine. I knew I had one in the collection, which I could use but where was the other one? After much rummaging, I found it in the line boring machine masquerading as something else. So I stole the block and front cover from the one in the dump truck kit. Aaaah the pleasures of the golden age. Using a Ken Smith article, I started drilling. Are all V800s blue? Edited October 26, 2020 by landman
