BeakDoc Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Built from the AMT kit. Churched it a bit with Aoshima wheels and 2-tone paint. Figured why not supercharge it drop it a skosh and throw some headers on it too. Comments, tips, pointers always welcome. Thanks for looking.
Slimguy Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Beautiful Chris...love the detail work in the interior and engine compartment.
espo Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Beautiful looking Grand Prix, these were some of the best looking body styles for Pontiac. The two tone paint doesn't always work, but you followed the body lines and it works well here. The interior Wood Trim looks perfect, the contrasting color inserts in the rear seat and door panels are close enough in color that they could be mistaken for matching wood finishes. The engine is special. The Super Charger and the Carb. setup in particular look like the old AMT '57 Bel Air kit's unit. I would like to know where all those parts came from.
Geno Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 WOW, that is just too cool. Great job Chris. My pops had a '65 Bonneveille so this year Pontiac is near and dear to me.
Scalper Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 nice work.. .wheels look good. nice engine. and nice work on the two tone
olschoolkid Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Nicely done. I like the supercharged engine. I agree that it does look kinda like the AMT 57 Chevy.

David, the blower, belt/pulleys, intake and Webers were in the kit. I stripped the chrome off the blower parts and painted them to match the block. The kit was the most recent re-pop in the flat box. Cool, easy kit with lots of customization options and extra doodads. Chassis detail is uber-blah, however. Thank you to you and all others for the compliments.

Thank you for the information on this kit. For some reason I passed on the purchase during the last reissue. Based on your build I'm inclined to pick one up the next time I see one.
Wm David Green Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Excellent job, really nice color choice. Currently I have two versions stashed of the recent re-pop, one in white plastic, other in metallic aqua. I notice there are extra parts in the large flat box version (white plastic). I might use the modern wheels from the Revell's 'California Wheels' issue '62 Impala and see if they go with the Grand Prix, as I intend to use PPP's Holman Moody 9" wheels and tires with the Chevy.
Peter Lombardo Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 great color combination and wheels, very nicely done. Man, those mid 60's Pontiac's were great looking cars..... too bad they couldn't last, a real shame.
Wm David Green Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Those custom wheels really make this barge go.
Jim N Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Very nicely done. The paint and details are outstanding!
c. jackson Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 very cool. i'm working on a couple of those and a bonneville. just love old poncho's
