Kit Basher Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 This kit thoroughly challenged my limited skills, but I guess it came out OK.
64Comet404 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Looking good! I built one of these for a client years ago, and have thought about getting another one for the stash.
martin9428 Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Planes. A whole other animal and skill set, great job
Dave Van Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Looks good to me!! I built the Airfix 1/72 years ago....it was big....this must be huge!
Kit Basher Posted April 24, 2019 Author Posted April 24, 2019 Thanks, Ken! Thanks, Snake! Thanks, Scott! 6 minutes ago, Dave Van said: ....this must be huge! It is! Thanks, Dave!
Jim N Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Looks very nice. Great job, particularly on the camo paint.
showrods Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 My father, as a teenager/young man, flew in Lancasters during WWII. He was one of the few to make it out alive. I had the privilege of getting in one of the remaining still flying Lancasters when it landed in Ottawa a few years ago and after seeing the insides, I don't know how any of the crew survived. Cramped; thin skinned; no insulation; interior noise must have been incredible; attack from enemy aircraft; flak; bad weather; etc - brave boys/men all.
High octane Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Wow Hugh, that build turned out better than okay. Great job!

I had the same idea after touring the inside of a B-17. They were truly the Greatest Generation. Thanks, Peter! Thanks, Nick!
showrods Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Forgot to say that you did a great job on this kit...
unclescott58 Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 As Mark above said, "Looks great." I agree 100%.
bisc63 Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Nice job! Challenging your skills is exactly what makes you better!
Belugawrx Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Nice work on the Avro Lancaster Hugh. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has one of the last, flying Lancasters, and you can hear it coming for miles. They do flyovers almost every weekend in the summer months.

I need more challenges, I have lots of room to improve. 1 hour ago, Belugawrx said: The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has one of the last, flying Lancasters, and you can hear it coming for miles. Thanks, Bruce! I have never heard four Merlins, but we occasionally get flyovers with four Wright radials. What a wonderful sound!
