Will we ever see any of these kits again?

Seems like one shot was all we got on these. Didn't they sell well ?

Are there any other one shot kits you wonder about?

I was wondering if we would see the Payhauler 350 again. I’d like one bad!

Well, Rumor has it that the 29/30 Fords will return eventually. IIRC, the most current Rumor last year before the whole Hobbico/Blitz debacle was that Revell was planning on putting out the Coupe with the Roadster Engine. Then the sale happened and all bets were off. I suspect that from the way both kits sold the first time they were out, Revell is anxious to have them back on the shelves. They were a proven money maker, from what we heard at the time. But Blitz, is short on everything but ideas right now, so I'll wait patiently for them to re-appear.

As for the other two, Revell was very clear at the time that the "Blue Baja" was a One Shot Deal. That is why I ponied up and bought one, when they first came out. I did not want to miss the boat on getting one. As far as the Rat Roaster, I know nothing. My Guess, would be that the tool is fine, and eventually we will see it again. But WHEN will we see it? I cannot begin to guess.

Pretty much what I know on these.  On the Roaster, Revell's agreement with Stacey David lapsed.  But, it could resurrect in another form with tweaks?

I think we will see Blue Bandito again. The money was spent to uograde the tooling.  I doubt we will see them do the same thing to older kits modified extensively. For example restoring the little T.

As for the other two definitely.  The 29 is coming. Also they will make minor changes for the rat roaster. It would be silly not to reuse existing tooling.

Just speculation, but I think the A's are guaranteed to return eventually, just because they spent so much money on them and they sold quite well. I'm hoping that they will update it to a 50s style with an Olds or similar rear end and maybe even add a stock version. The Blue Beetle/Bandito will certainly return in some way or variation because they spent money restoring it.

The A’s should return. I knew all the speculation that the tooling was damaged was suspect. They had the CAD files!  I think it was more that the old company hadn’t paid their Chinese partner who wasn’t going to produce more product and maybe was holding the tooling on a workman’s lien.

Part of setting up the new Revell is setting future business with old partners or moving forward with new ones. There is too much potential  in the A’s to abandon at this point.

If you see something your remotely interested and can afford it now, by it now. I'm glad I bought and built Revell's '29 and '30 Fords as soon as they came out. I was a bit on the fence about the Blue Bandito. But, I picked one up with the thought that someday I may want to build one. And there is no guarantee the kit will be available (at reasonable price) down the road. So I bought one. I have more kits than I maybe ever be able to build before I die. But, I'm glad I got them for when I'm ready to build them. If ever.

Two that puzzle me are the MPC '72 Road Runner and '70 GTO, both of which were available in the late '80s (or, "almost yesterday" to us old-timers).

With the exception of JoHans, it seems like any tooling that lasted that long is still around and has been reissued several times since then.

I can't think of anything that the '72 Road Runner tooling might have been turned into since then.

It's rumored that the '70 GTO was turned into the '72, but I have my doubts. For one thing, they were both reissued in the '80s--I seem to recall seeing them on the LHS shelf at the same time. For another, I wonder if the two body shells etc are really the same. If they are, MPC turned the '70 into the '71 and then the '72, and then at some point BACK into the '70, and then later BACK into the '72 again. Add to this the fact that the reissued '72 body is much narrower at the rear end than the original '70, and I'm really having my doubts. So where are the '70 molds?

The 1971 roadrunner reappeared in 1988, missing the dated bumpers and body chassis post locators. 1972 never returned. My guess is that the Roadrunner and 70/72 GTO had several tool body inserts. If you inspect them closely, they are similar but different. More obvious is Daisy's Roadrunner is a 1973 not 71 or 72. but it has common parts . Ever notice that the MPC 1967 GTO sometimes comes with a 1970 nose. Always has the same engine and chassis. ERTL may have lost the inserts. for different years.
