Looks as though the new box is released now:

I know it's an older kit, but it looks like it would be easy to detail, and would be an interesting companion for the 356 Coupe...

50 Euros RRP, so once a few of the usual model shops get hold of it, you should be able to get one for £40 or so...

best,

M.

The real things are 225/50 16s, so you have 4.5" sidewalls on 16" wheels... a bit more than 1/3 the distance from the centre to outer edge is tyre. Doesn't look so bad to me:

When I measured several rims I discovered that the stated dimension is is about 1.5" smaller than the outside diameter of the rim.  It is probably the inside diameter of the tire's bead.

So a 16" wheel is actually 17.5" diameter.

I have the reissue from '81, haven't looked at it for awhile but from what I remember it didn't look like a very good and detailed kit. Kind of regret buying it to be honest.

The tire issue might have been addressed after a fashion. There's an unboxing video that appears to show RevellAG went with the 16" Gatorbacks from the 1/16 '87 IROC/GTA kits for this release - a bit anachronistic for late '70s, but I'm guessing MUCH closer to scale size than the old rubber GT Radials.

That's good info regarding the tires, thanks. The Goodyear Gatorbacks are indeed much nicer, and more appropriate for the car. Nice to see those tire mold still exists, too.

Here's Chris'/hpiguy's unboxing video:

And a still of the parts, showing the pre-tinted clear parts. I thought that was a thing buried in Revell's past, but, it seems fitting for this particular car.
