When I walk into a showroom and look at the sticker price on a new pickup and wince at the $75-80,000.00 price tag the salesman just shrugs his shoulders and says "that`s the way it is now", I just shake my head. I bought a 2000 F-150 for $25,000.00 brand new, lowered it, put on wheels and tires. air intake etc, and still came in under $30,000.00. Still have it though it`s never winter driven. Try that today! You can still get a new F150, or any other domestic half ton for $25k CDN...depending on the spec you want. I've actually dealt with guys who want Camaros or Mustangs, then freak at the price, and I move them into a 2WD V8 truck for way less. THey still get V8 performance and save money.

I used to own a 2016 mustang gt, and I truly believe it would not have had the 400+hp if it wasn't for the Camaro. My new 2019 Mustang has 460hp... I love it! ??
gotnitro? Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Drop the camaro name and bring back the Chevelle ss !!! Make an option comparable to the Hellcat / gt350 and a every Joe's car might bring people into the dealership
oldcarfan Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 When they reintroduced the Camaro in 2009 it was interesting but flawed, sacrificing everything for fleeting style, but that is typical for GM. Rather than doing a facelift in 2016, they should have taken the opportunity to address the flaws and maybe use the 70-1/2 split bumper as a touchstone for an updated look.
Bucky Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Even tho it's a four door car, I think the Impala looks better than the Camaro. Too bad Pontiac bit the dust....a Firebird version might have had a more interesting look.
Vince Nemanic Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Does this mean that the NASCAR Chevy teams will have to change their noses and tail panels to Corvettes or SUVs?
Bucky Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Could NASCAR teams go back to the Impala? SUV racing might be an interesting trend! LOL

1930fordpickup Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 So if they are dropping the front engine design and going to mid engines, what are they going to put in the trucks?
slusher Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 My brother has a convertible 2010 and it has awful interior. My wife has a 16 Charger she bought in Feb and it blows the Camaro on interior and styling. In my opinion and price...
junkyardjeff Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Could not pay me enough to take one, just cant see out the back on them and the convertible has too much European influence on the build. The whole top frame has to come out to replace the top and a few years ago no aftermarket top manufactures were making replacement tops so back to the dealer.

Really?? I wouldn't like that at all as I've replaced convertible tops in the past and I did NOT have to take the ENTIRE frame out of the car! That's just crazy! Was this the 5th gen Camaro? Thanks for the heads up.....I do like those but not to the point of that kind of trouble to replace the top.
Cpt Tuttle Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I might sound like a grumpy old man now, but in my opinion the last interesting Camaro was the 1973 model, and everything from gen 4 onwards has been terrible, might be nice cars, I have never driven anything newer than gen 3 so I can't answer that, but so ugly looking, so there will not be any tears in my eyes if they are dropping the Camaro for good.....

Its the 2010? and up and needs two stalls to change the top,I was told by a top manufacture a European company designed it and I could tell as it was too much like a BMW. The top slides in a rail along the bottom and it bends causing puckers in the top and yes it needs to come completely out to repair but I think its the first couple years that had that issue and there were issues with the tops too but the top manufactures would not make a replacement top since they did not know what GM was going to do to fix the problems at the time I was talking too them. The updated top and headliner had more strings and other things that needed new holes drilled and if you want one do not get the first couple years.

If I were looking at one down the road it would be the '14-'15 models.....just before they changed to the current one. I've been in the 5th gen cars and to me they were a definite improvement over the newer '16 and up which I feel they took a step backwards. I didn't get one at the time as I got a better deal on my Challenger.
