thatz4u Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 don't worry about the price of gas, or food & drink, or fireworks.....others paid a higher price so we can celebrate freely....
espo Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Unfortunately far to many think its about Fireworks, cold Beer, and a Burger or two. We all have much to be thankful for and the sad part is we are unable to thank too many who made it all possible. So honor those that you can and pray for those you can't.

Absolutely! God bless America, and those who serve to keep it free! And don't forget to have a hot dog(ger) or two!

mikemodeler Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Today has a different feel for me, most likely because my son's National Guard unit is in training for their overseas deployment later this year. In years past we would celebrate today by attending a parade as a family and watching fireworks, all while knowing that our freedom has come at a heavy price. Starting as a Freshman in HS JROTC, my son has been involved in the military for 10 years now and it truly is his calling as he has known this is what he's wanted to do for a long time. We are proud of his decision to serve, sad because today doesn't feel the same and know that next July 4th will be like today as he will still be deployed, but know in our hearts that he is where he wants to be. I am thankful for our vets who have done what so few of us are/were willing to do. To our members here who are vets, thank you.
BaBaBooey Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Sorry to chime in a bit late. Far too many people in this country have forgotten what the 4th really is. It's a shame, just as too many have forgotten what 9/11 is. The 4th is the birth of our freedom. Celebrate it proper! Enjoy the festivities, enjoy your family and things you worked hard for and most importantly, be thankful to our military and first responders who defend and protect our freedoms and rights. A big THANK YOU to them and any who are on this forum.
