Another nice Escort Bruce.  It's nice to have this kit back in production.  I recently picked up a resin trans-kit of the Monte Carlo Tarmac Special.  The body is nicely cast but the rear fender shape isn't quite right.

Nice job Bruce. Looks better as a Tarmac racer than it does as a rally car. Love the air grilles in the headlight and on bonnet. And colour suits very well.

The RS1800 (Mk II Escort) was a world class rally car winning the World Championship in '79 and again in '81.  They were never very successful on tarmac (asphalt) thus the birth of the Monte Carlo Tarmac Special.  The RS1600 (Mk I Escort) was a better circuit racer.  That being said I still really like Bruce's builds.
