Great work on those very tiny fuel pumps, they should look even better with some color on them.

Well, they have color on them.  They're not perfect but I'm calling them done.  I would add that each pump is just shy of 1/4" in overall height as a reference point.  The tiniest of nuts that I used on them are from RB motion and are .010" or .27mm in size......btw, iF anyone  knows of some mid-70's in-line, spin on FUEL filters I'd love to know who made them.  I found a great looking one but only have a single pick and it's from 1973.  I could get close to it's appearance but I checked high and low for the date that FRAM introduced their HPG-1 in-line filter but can't find a date........any info would be greatly appreciated.  cheers, tim

Glad they're not perfect Tim... you're a ruthless critic, it's hard for a layperson to understand all the work that goes into achieving this!

Francis, I admit it comes with a bit of reluctance to just say, "done"........but if I ever want to get this build done I've got to move on.  You're correct though that little bitty parts like this for the detail they have is a bit time consuming.  If not for today's phenomenal cameras / pic quality, you'd never notice in a million years, but I'd know (right?!)  thanks too!

Daniel, too funny but no they weren't in the catalog I assure you. 

Took a moment from the fuel components and worked on the dry sump tank....still detailing and some additional holes to drill in the tank itself along with a new cap (I dislike the one in the pic) and this will be done......like the fuel pumps, not perfect but I'm moving on with it.   Thanks everyone and cheers to each of you,  tim

Very cool Tim, your cap is probably not perfect if we use a microscope to analyze it, you are a very harsh judge my friend, I would not have liked to have you as a school teacher!  I am not very familiar with the dry sump system, but it seems that the system brings several advantages in the world of drag racing cars, it is interesting, I will listen to my teacher with interest! 😁

Nice work on the dry sump tank Tim, I like the parts I machine until I post them here they never look great after you blow them up in the pictures you see all the flaws that you can't spot at normal size.

Hi Francis, You have no idea how happy I am that I stocked up years ago on T2m, r.b. Motion and others when I did.  They’re scarce or non-existent now.  Still have enough inventory to finish this build properly though.  Cheers, Tim.

Thanks Steve.......well, nothing like "re-work"...which I truly despise because it means I've made a mistake.  So this past week and after taking almost 100 pics of the Hardy chassis at the 3DogGarage I determined my radiator was simply wrong.  2mm too wide and also 1mm too tall.  So in the acetone it went, shaved and pared everything down, repainted & re-assembled.  I did add the overflow tube to call it truly well and done.  cheers, tim

Hi Chris.....well, here's what I worked on this week, it's the in-line spin on Fram fuel filter.   There were a lot of little steps to go thru to make this itty bitty one.  It's actually prep for the this weeks project, the Holley fuel regulator..... here's the pics. cheers, tim

Thanks Brian, I airbrushed it of course as a can would have covered up the detail.  I just wish I had a tiny Fram decal to go on it.  I have tons of decals, many by Slixx too and none of them have a decal sized to fit.........

Anton, now you've done it, your wife will certainly declare me certifiably "insane"......one of the things that I've come to enjoy about making the majority of the parts in metal is of course nothing looks like it, but it also let's me strive to be more accurate on such tiny parts.  Thanks for checking it out.  cheers, tim

Thanks Francis.......this part I'm sharing today is even smaller and more detailed than the filter.  

Today, I finally got the body done of the Holley fuel regulator.  There are 3 more parts to make, upper, lower parts and the bracket to hold it.  This started out as round stock but the body is hexagonal in shape....this piece has about 6 or so hours in it not including the drawings I had to make.  A pic of the real thing with the bottom pic showing it attached to a 76' Pro Stock Mustang II.  They had to mount it backwards and upside down as space was at a premium.   More pics to follow once I get the next 3 parts made. cheers!!
