Next project in line is one I've resurrected from my "dead pile". It's Tamiya's 1/24th scale Lotus Seven kit, which I had painted a Testors metallic green some years ago, hated, and put back into the box. Now that I'm trying to whittle down my stash, I did a quick wet sanding, primed it, and shot it with this Vallejo Model Color Deep Green which I'm much happier with. I figure I'll knock this out and set it down right next to the MGB in my case.

That is a better shade of green for your Lotus 7, Justin....... I have one of these Tamiya kits of the Lotus 7 that I haven't built yet, but I used the wheels and tyres for a Ford Anglia 105E build in resin. Like all Tamiya kits in 1:24 scale, you should find that it makes a nice model when completed. and the Vallejo paints are a good choice. Good luck!

Got a bit more assembly done. It's really a fun kit to just sit down and assemble and while there's a little bit of prod and push to getting some things fit it's generally a fun build.

Great little kit.  And I do mean little. Built model will sit easily on my phone screen.  Moto G6.  And fun. Nothing like a kit that almost falls together.

Anyone who remembers the cult TV series The Prisoner may remember the opening sequence where Patrick McGoohan pulls up in his Lotus 7 to resign. It would be very easy to model his car from this kit.

The Italianate village where the filming took place in the 60's is located at Portmerion in North Wales. The village was conceived and built by Clough Ellis over a number of years. It is open to the public and some of the houses can be let for holidays and there is a hotel on site built in the same style as the village. Clough Ellis' vision was to blend pleasing architecture into the natural landscape. It is a very impressive place to walk around and when I visited there was a small shop in a circular building devoted to selling 'Prisoner' regalia.

Now you mention it, Noel..... I used to watch ' The Prisoner ' TV series, starring Patrick McGoohan and also, I have visited the Italianate village in Portmeirion, which is an interesting place to visit. I do have a Tamiya Lotus 7 kit, which is still in the box...... having pinched the road wheels for my Ford Anglia 105E resin build.
