Very nice and I do not blame you for doing the Boss hood paint scheme instead of the tapered Mach1 one.  Is that the grille and bumper from MIssing Link?  It looks nice. As you probably know the Mach1 and Boss had the same grille but the Bosses had the chrome bumper (also made by Missing link).   I think you could use this licence plate to complete the build as a Mach1.  ?

Great looking Mustang. That color could almost glow in the dark. Very nice finish. I never thought this body style Mustang got the respect it deserved.

I tried to paint the hood  4 times and nothing would cooperate. So I did the Boss paint scheme. One day I will strip it and try again. Yes Missing Link.

I like the side stripes as they taper towards the back.  For some reason almost every decal I've seen continues the front part of the stripe to the area where it should be painted black just like the rest of the bottom of the car.  Here's an original set of decals and my Mach1.

Here's a picture of one of my oldest builds (40 years old?).  As you can see time has not been kind and it's disassembled and the decals are flaking off.  But, despite the bad art work on the box (which shows hte stripe about the same width the length of the body, the kit decal is a very good match to the real thing.  The part below the reflector is spot on.  So, leave it to the Japanese to make the best representation of the side stripe on a kit with opening doors but without an opening hood and hence no engine.  It's a motorized kit I guess that is to be expected.  Another cool feature of this kit (which I think is really about 1/23) is separate orange and red lenses (which fell out) for the side reflectors.  This is not a detail you woul expect is this scale.

I added some more pictures. One is the same kit but from my display case.  The 2nd one is also a Japanese brand but about 1/28 scale.  The decals on both are from the kits and very accurate.
