ChrisBcritter Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Last weekend there was an auction of the contents of an old service station in Desert Center, CA. This one caught my eye; it was the second-highest bid vehicle at $9500: Very interesting body; I'm guessing it was set up to carry fuel in bulk and in drums? Last licensed in 1967. Here's the rest of the auction; you could get a Master's degree in Desert Patina from all the photos. The '32 White rigging truck is my favorite. https://bid.bidfastandlast.com/ui/auctions/41842
DPNM Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Some cool stuff here. Looks like a few bidders got a decent bargain. I only scrolled through the first 100 though. Seemed the vehicles were done by then. The two that caught my eye were the Internationals.
espo Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Lots of goodies, the two Plymouth wagons are interesting to me. Besides the great patina ideas, look at the license plates on the units that have sat outside thru the years. This is a perfect idea of what Sand Storm damage can look like for those who haven't seen it before.
89AKurt Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 (edited) Wow, that's complete! Hardly see those Cannoball C.O.E., especially the bigger ones. ? 1930 Indian motorcycle $42,000! ? Edited November 6, 2019 by 89AKurt
iamsuperdan Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Some cool stuff there. That 70 Monaco wagon calls to me.
Ralph Henderson Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Could have been used to deliver 25 Gallon Propane/Butane tanks for home use also. awesome project nonetheless.. Be cool if it was restored as a water/service truck/ catering truck for car shows and emergencies.
