ismaelg Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Hello, It's finally done! What else can I say? You have seen it's progress. If not, here is the link. Progress thread in the workbench section What was supposed to be just another project evolved into one of the most elaborate model I've ever done! And it is not a Corvette! I thought the C6R and the Gurney Eagle were my top, but I think this tops them, especially considering all the working features and the fact that this came out of an AMT box. I took about 100 pictures but I think none of them do justice to the car. As usual, your comments are appreciated. Convertible top on. This was a true roadster, so it had no side windows. Top down, everything else closed. hood open Rumble seat and golf bag door open. The golf bag door is not droopy like it seems in the picture. Go figure.... a stack of 1933 Indy 500 programs The chrome looks like rubbed off but it is not. It is OK. That's the reflection of the poster on the wall. Whoever sat in the rumble seat left a program behind. interior Engine, hood off I want to thank all of you for your comments and encouragement during the process. At some point I thought this would never end. But there are 2 guys I want to give special thanks to: my advisors Art Anderson and Luis Ayala. THANK YOU BOTH from the bottom of my heart! My hat off to you 2! Thanks, Edited October 3, 2008 by ismaelg
ismaelg Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 These 2 pictures did not make the top ten but I like them too I made a rig to display the hood and the top separately. The engine is too nice to be covered up. I don't have the guts to turn the car upside down to take pictures of the chassis. The hubs are quite fragile and it could be tragedy. So here are pictures of it in progress. Thanks,
Randy Kern Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Ismael, that's a masterpiece in every respect, especially knowing all that went into it. You have to make it to next year's NNL East so we can get a look at the real thing. Incredible build!
novadose71 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 That is a beautiful build Ismael, there is just something cool about those golfbag doors.
Zoom Zoom Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Very classy classic! Nice work of a model rarely seen built
ismaelg Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Hello again, I just noticed (thanks to Rogelio) that the windshield frame shows like if the chrome rubbed off. I got scared and went to check the model, but it turns out that is the reflection on the poster on the wall. Everyting is OK. It scared the heck out of me Here is a picture with the walls painted white: Sorry We can now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress.... Thanks, Edited October 3, 2008 by ismaelg

3men2s Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) LOOKING AT IT IS NOT ENOFF. I WANT TO SEAT ON THAT LEATHER AND TAKE A BIG SNIFF...... AND THEN CRANK THAT ENGINE AND FEEL THE VIBRATION OF THE STRAIT 8 GOING THRU THE STERING WHEEL AND LET IT TINGLE MY FINGERS AND RADDLE MY SPINE. OPEN THE GLOVE BOX, TAKE OUT MY SHADES SEAT BACK, PUT MY ARM RESTED IN THE SEAT HOLDIND A HONEY TIGHT, (NO SEAT BELT). WITH THE OTHER HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL. I LET IT OUT SLOW...AND I JUST GO AND GET LOST AND PLEASE.......LET ME DREAM, DON'T WAKE ME UP..... Edited October 9, 2008 by 3men2s
Paul Payne Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Great build, love the display- where did you get, or how did you create, the posters and programs?
