JollySipper Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Final primer on the NSX.......... Rustoleum primer really is good to work with. It sands smooth and holds up to the lacquer paints really well. Just steer away from using their paints for bodies! This will get DupliColor.......... 3
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) Not much, but seein' as how I needed to clean the bench off again to do more work on the 1:1 DeLorean panel, and as I'm inspired by Dave B's Cheetah build, I figgered I'd do a quick mockup of my Cox Cheetah, the same basis Dave started with. Wheels and tires are from an Accurate Miniatures GS Corvette, maybe a little too heavy for the Cheetah. ...and as I had the oven cleaner out anyway, I stripped it before putting it back on the shelf of doom. This one was a complete slotcar. Edited August 5 by Ace-Garageguy 6
meechum68 Posted Wednesday at 02:18 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:18 AM Check my post on the 47 Chevy Aerosedan. But here's what else I got done, some work on the wife's 57 Fairlane. Color is Pink/Gold Iridescent PS-47 over Tamiya Pink Primer. Funny part is ... under some light it looks copper/brassy, under other it looks like Rose Gold. I hope I don't have to throw it in the pond again for another color change. Wife is unsure about it atm. If she keeps it like it is, I have to do some wet sanding, I got some finger prints in it, and a couple dust bunnies, then will reshoot it, if not then pond and another color choice. 5

meechum68 Posted Thursday at 12:55 AM Posted Thursday at 12:55 AM No pics, but did some grinding on the inside of the 47 front fenders, and it looks like I will have to do a bit more to get things to sit, will likely post tomorrow after I get more bench time.

meechum68 Posted Thursday at 11:15 PM Posted Thursday at 11:15 PM Beautiful @gtx6970 I agree about taking pics, let's you find things you miss.
meechum68 Posted Friday at 01:55 AM Posted Friday at 01:55 AM Got some more trimming done on the 47, and the wife is gonna have me tank the Fairlane, she didn't like the color, but I will be doing that car again with that same color cuz it looked fantastic. I got a little bit of suspension done on the Fairlane, and tires and rims lined out. Will assemble them tomorrow likely and start doing more work on the engine to at least get the engine/frame fully ready. Will have to do some painting on the frame for some detail stuff.
mchook Posted Friday at 02:37 PM Posted Friday at 02:37 PM (edited) I've been trying to work on the hood for the 53 International. I've cut this Chevy hood so much I think it's more glue & putty than plastic. Anyway it's closer, not good or right but closer. I filled the back window in so I can make the 2 windows that the International has too. Slowly but it's something. Edited Friday at 02:38 PM by mchook 7
Lownslow Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM Almost lost this build due to loosing the drive belt but i was able to draw it up and print a new one 3
Lownslow Posted Sunday at 04:40 AM Posted Sunday at 04:40 AM So i couldnt use my offset hubs on this and was too lazy to do it right so i offset the posts on the 3d wheels to get the right stance for a late 80s custom build. 5

johnyrotten Posted Sunday at 10:55 AM Posted Sunday at 10:55 AM Started polishing the clear on the Chevelle last night, only to burn through on the hood. FULL STOP. Stripped it and will reshoot it this morning.

JollySipper Posted Sunday at 06:55 PM Posted Sunday at 06:55 PM I built this Plymouth some time back........ I had originally put '62 Tbird wire wheels on it. It looked okay, but the wires didn't go with the rest of the build to me. Now I think these wheels are a lot better match......... 2
Wickersham Humble Posted Sunday at 07:17 PM Posted Sunday at 07:17 PM TJ, color is almost wasted on this build -- so monochrome! Wheels are to my taste. Q: anybody know a source for 1/24 scale trad pin-drive/knock-off Halibrands? I have three from my 1059 StromBecker Scarab (slot-type battery powered racer) kit, but one has a broken rim. I tried casting them, but not skilled enough (at age 80) to get good repros. It, of course, had real rubber tries, old Firestone Super-Sports type, which would be great to have, even in resin replicas (or, okay, printed) for the authentic look. I have two WWII era Bonneville-type cars abuilding that could use a set! Wick
johnyrotten Posted Sunday at 08:44 PM Posted Sunday at 08:44 PM I got the hood resprayed and cleared, along with the body. Going to let this cure good and long before any finish work. 4
