meechum68 Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Got my Cannonball build in primer, body, interior tub, hood frame .. then it's body work and reprime. Then will do paint. After will bring all the small stuff, suspension, engine etc etc etc
Old Buckaroo Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Got the "Motown Missile" pretty much mocked up , decided to drag the MPC 69 Daytona back out that will be "Eberhart - Nunn" car and get back yo work on it. 3
Keef Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Got one finished and off the bench, then started mocking up a couple of new builds. 8
Ulf Posted August 18 Posted August 18 On wheels, one thing I learned on this forum is to dare to use different types of glues, thanks to all who contribute. The MPC's axles are very weak so there will be a compromise with support. If I build another one, it will definitely be brass wire in the axles. 4

That drag '57 T-bird is actually a really cool idea; I drew a drag '57 T-bird in highschool and called it "Atilla the Thun" (instead of Atilla the Hun). Thought that would be a cool name enblazoned across a drag Thunderbird. 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Got side-tracked fixing the wheels on my '53 Stude since I took the original tires off to use for my '69 Galaxie, and then a set from that kit I just put in the Stude box to put them on next time I take the supplies out so the '63 Impala has gone literally nowhere in the past 4 days. All I did was pick out a different rim/tire combo. Planning on actually starting today for sure. 2
Old Buckaroo Posted August 19 Posted August 19 The windshield scoop has been built for the Pro Stock Grump Monza - This started life as a Promo out of a North Carolina swamp. If you've never tried building a model from a promo you're missing out ! The swamp Monza 3

Wickersham Humble Posted August 19 Posted August 19 AMT fan, here. Wick Quote How do I get rid of this box?
Falcon Ranchero Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Meant what I said; started on the Impala last night; got mostly everything painted and assembled the interior. Assembled engine this morning, wheels'll be this evening. Should be completely done on Friday at the latest. 2
meechum68 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Got the 57 out of the bath, she cleaned up pretty nicely, will have to do a bit of sanding. Should be able to put it back in primer Friday evening, and then lay the base coat Sat and top coat on Sunday. Gonna try and talk the wife into a grey interior with Purple highlights, (also gonna get some flocking for floor as well in purple if things go as planned) And got some paint on my Cannonball build, which will have the 2 pics of it atm. 2
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 01:21 AM Posted Sunday at 01:21 AM Got a bit of work on the 47 done, started mounting suspension stuff so I can get the height set and do any more massaging if I have to and then put in the engine mounts.
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 11:12 PM Posted Sunday at 11:12 PM Spent a nice amount of time at the bench today!! Worked on the 47, laid down some primer on the wife's 57, got my Cannonballer fully primed and will shoot color on the body and hood this week, and if you look closely at the pics I have on the 47, you will see a sneaky lil Skyline in the background, that guy is for another group build, we are doing a Tamiya kit build, but can do anything we want, sooo... stay tuned. Been so nice to be working on various things and make progress here and there. 1
Lownslow Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM knocked out the Porsche interior 2

oldcarfan Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I finished a long stalled project today. I started it during COVID and then got sick and put it away. It's the Toyota Hiace Van from 1983. It was an original issue that I got at a hobby show in 2019. The guy bought it new and saw the body had to be assembled and lost interest. He gave it to me for $15 so I can't complain. It's been on the shelf taunting me for a while so I pulled it down. I'll post some more pictures in the truck build section. 4
Brudda Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Mounted the body on the chassis. Starting to look like a car. Temporary put the tires and wheels on for a last fit. Stance is good , no engine interference problems and the hood fits, now we can move on to finish her. 2
Bainford Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Sharp looking colour on the Goat. That's going to be cool.
