Richard Bartrop Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Modelers devote a lot of effort on duplicating how a car looks, but this guy tried to duplicate how a car moves. It's not perfect, but it is an interesting experiment. More here: https://superscale2020.blogspot.com/
Motor City Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 that is really cool; Whomever did the body also did a great job, and it would make a nice kit. 3D printing will allow us to eventually create our own. How about some Starfires!
ChrisBcritter Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 For the first minute and a half it's like watching a nervous noob in driver's ed learning to parallel park!
oldnslow Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 WOW , Fantastic model , only thing I can see it needs , is a driver figure .
Joe Handley Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 That would be freaky bodied up to look like Christine!
espo Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Very interesting car. Impressive suspension action and the exhaust flames are great. The builder put a lot into this. The only down side in watching this move around is the front tire geometry when the front wheels are turned. I'm afraid to ask how much he has in parts alone in this.
Joe Handley Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 That front end geometry is normal for R/C drift cars (1:1 drift cars too, IIRC) espo, especially that crazy steering angle built into that front suspension. So car as parts cost, there are places to get that stuff from that is c-h-e-a-p-!-!-!, but I'm not always sure about quality and hate having to swap bad parts out for good on my R/Cs.

Thanks for the info. I really don't know much about R/C cars and never thought about the Drift Cars steering geometry. Learn something new every day.
