Motor Max Saleen S7 1/18 diecast kit

Has anyone seen or bought or know anything about these? It is a metal body glue/snap/screw together kit. Doesn't seem to be very detailed. I don't know when I bought it; I found it after unpacking things from a recent move.

I think I have one in my buddy's collection, but I know nothing either.

Motormax  are pretty basic but there are not many S7's to be found and none were offered in plastic.  I have one in 1/43 diecast.

Yeah, it's pretty basic. I will do a little detail painting to try to make it look less like a cheap diecast. It surprises me that there has never been a plastic kit.

This has me intrigued.  Picked up a cheap used one on eBay.

These were raced both here in the States as well as internationally, so going to do some research on converting it to a racer.

Motor Max also did one in 1/24 though not branded but labeled as a 2001.  Also available in different colors and in a painted assembly kit by Testors.  Pattos Place does racing decals for it.

I did a 1/24 Testors kit. I used to see this car from time to time on my way to work. This garnet colored one was the first street car. The guy had it specially built, and had a Ford GT and other exotics, so you never knew what he was going to drive to work. His company made frame less fish tanks. I detailed painted the interior and engine plate, added a wire to the antenna, and chrome foiled the wheels.

I have both the Motor Max and the Hot Wheels versions in 1:18 scale as built models; neither were in kit form. It doesn't surprise me that Motor Max made a kit of the S7 as they do a number of their 1:18 models in kits as well.
