Mike 1017 Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Rip Clive Cussler . Thank you for the hours and hours great reading . Mecum auctioned a number of late 50's early 60' DeSoto's, Plymouths' and Imperials from his collection They are spectacular !
High octane Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Clive Cussler has been my favorite author for years. While I generally don't have time to read books, when traveling I pass the time reading Clive's books and they are great. Guess I'll have to pick up a few more of his novels and find /make time to read them.
slusher Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 A great author lost, his books are fantastic!!
Matt Bacon Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Well, he was 88, so I think we can file him under a good life, well lived. I enjoyed a lot of his books, which in my life followed Biggles and then Alistair Maclean, which seems reasonable enough... He was badly served by Hollywood it seems to me: Dirk Pitt could have been a James Bond franchise, but Raise the Titanic was awful, and Sahara, whilst not bad, wasn’t really the book or characters he’d written... best, M.
misterNNL Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I have read all of his novels and always looked forward to discovering those were he inserted himself as a minor character in some of his own books. Thanks to him for hours of enjoyable reading.
High octane Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Well I haven't read all of his novels and wish that I had made a list of the ones I did. So with that in mind I know that there are several that I need to read as yet. Either I'll buy them or renew my library card and have at it.
charlie8575 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 I've only read a few of his books, but they were extraordinarily well-done. No idea he had such a rich professional life before writing, too. He'll definitely be missed. Charlie Larkin
