Your weathering technique is very realistic looking. I'm a shinny builder, but I appreciate those who can put a finish like this on a build. You mentioned you didn't like the kit except for the body. I'm wanting to build a '41 in the near future and would appreciate knowing what you found about the kit that you didn't like.

Thank David..

It's not really that bad of a kit , I built it out of box . The interior panels and glass seam real think when everything it together.. The suspension is not the greatest, I lowered the front end over an eighth inch , the most I could without swapping parts . The radius rods are right next to the tires, they would not be able to steer . The rear suspension is made to let the exhaust  fit. I think the fuel injection looks funny. And I don't think the firewall and inner fenders will fit without adding to them or moving the floor up,  I built the Revell 48 Woody , it goes together slot better.

I have to agree with you on the '48 Woody. All of the '48s are great kits. The '41 Fords both 1:1 and the kits seem to have the nose going up hill toward the front. Thanks for the info, it doen't sound like anything that would keep me from building it.

With some work it would be pretty nice . I built it out of box for a group build. I forgot about the hood , I took a lot off the front of the hood  to get rid of that.

I've been thinking that I would have to Pancake cut the hood to get it down. I built a '48 Coupe a couple of years ago and wanted to lower the front end. I scratch built a dropped front axel and sunk the center spring mount in the frame. I should have split the wishbones since the front part of the frame is sitting on the wishbones. It's just plastic and it looks cool.

I didn't want to put much time into this one , just removed off the bottom of the hood.  I sunk and ground the spring real thin , would have used the axle from the Beer Wagon or Garbage Truck if it wasn't box stock . I put one under the 48 I built  , it works great.
