Going to start this die cast kit next . Testors Platinum Series Kit . Looks pretty detailed . No painting required but I will be painting some pieces . I will not touch the body except for a polish as the paint is better than I can do . Kit is 1/24 scale . Anybody built this kit ?

It looks like fun! I think I have the stock version of this one, in black. It looks pretty good to me and completely satisfies my urge to own a '71-'73 Mustang model, but I'm sure Vamach1 will have a list of faults with it. B)

If I could find a stock one in the burgundy color I could be interested.  It is my wife's favorite car color.

I've seen them in black (like mine), silver, and blue, but never burgundy.

It is a great kit and 100% accurate in every way.  Oh, and the stock market went up 20% today. ?

So as we may know it's a metal version of the MPC plastic kit but with opening doors and the changes required to modify the interior.  Since it's a custom there is nothing to say what is right or wrong.   The Boss 429 sorta makes sense in this case.  It's too bad Testors did not correct the incorrect hood vents but who would notice or care (except me) and the cost to fix that in the tooling did not make the cut.  So, have fun - it's an easy build and you're right about the paint - nothing to be ashamed about.  I would change one thing - cut the spoiler mounts in half to lower the rear spoiler and of course mount it facing the correct direction.  Lastly, paint the door handles chrome.

Finished this today . No issues at all . I painted all the black parts black just to look better . Paint on body is very good and much better than I can do . I added some carpet but think I should have gone with black . Overall I really liked this die cast kit . May look for others in this series .

It came out great!

I was researching Testor metal kits not long ago and discovered that there are quite a few--and they came from several different original sources. I forget who made your Mustang. I have their '68 Camaro and it was made by Welly. It's quite nice and I like it a lot.

You are right about the paint - it looks great.  I see you painted the door handles and I like the red carpet.  I have the "stock" version in black and another in yellow and the third one I painted white to make the Japanese police car.

Thanks guys. I want to find the stock yellow one I think.

I bought these years ago but they pop up on Ebay pretty often.  I would not pay over $30 but I have seen people ask a lot more.  If you followed by build on the white one it started as one in yellow with the appropriate mods.

That's cool! Great color and I like the stance and wheels. Normally, not a fan of the that style hood scoop, but it looks really good on this car.
