Erik Smith Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Jeez, looks really cool. A few building options too. Did you preorder one, Geoff?
Phildaupho Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) WOW - beautiful kit. One of my all time favourite cars. I actually considered buying an SM when they were going for about $10000. As close as I got was buying a book on the SM's and a 1/43 diecast. I would love to get this model but the price is too rich for me. Edited March 14, 2020 by Phildaupho
The Creative Explorer Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 I saw it popping up online and loved it. When I was browsing through the pictures, I was really interested in getting one, but at 180 dollars, I find that too steep. I'd rather save that money for the Meng GT40 or new Italeri Delta.
Richard Bartrop Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Factoring in exchange rates and everything, as much as I like SMs, I don't like them that much. Now if someone like Ebbro were able to keep it south of three figures, I would be a customer.

I think if I added to the stash of 150 kits, 3 Revell London buses and a few resin transkits, when I'm not actually able to get any building done atm, I'd probably be kicked out of our London home and be living on my own back in the Midlands, although I've been given special dispensation to buy a couple of Revell E Type Jaguars later in the year.....
dublin boy Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Bet you'd like to be back up in Shirley for a week of normality Geoff. lol
jaymcminn Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 As much as I loooove the SM, that's a bit more than I'm willing to spend on a curbside 1/24 kit. That's not too far off of what I just spent for the Italeri 1/12 Alfa 8c.
john sharisky Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I hadn’t heard about this kit. Thanks *very* much for posting this info. I ordered one. John

vintagerpm Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I remember when I was in high school in the '70s, someone on my street had one of those in snow white. Looked like a space ship parked along the curb.
peteski Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 For what you are getting in the kit, and for the quality of the parts, that is actually not a bad price.
