Dave Van Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 That is a really odd collection of kits. None of them in the Top 10 best ever list for me. To each his own! Thanks for posting
Mike999 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Thanks. Interesting, but like Dave said...an odd collection.
Lunajammer Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Basically, those were five useable photos submitted by Hagarty forum users. Nice examples though.
Safire6 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 The Uncertain T and the Chevy Badman are in my Top 10. Cool old pic of the kid holding the Uncertain T!
Richard Bartrop Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Should I be concerned that a company that supposedly caters to car enthusiasts doesn't seem to recognize the Aerovette? As concept cars go, it's not exactly obscure. I have the Revell kit, so I can say the subject is on my want list, though I shudder to think what the Lindberg kit is like.
porschercr Posted March 31, 2020 Author Posted March 31, 2020 I have to agree, an odd collection, the only one of interest in my opinion would be the 240z.

jaymcminn Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 The 240z picture is a slot car. I can't testify if it's built from the Revell kit, but I'm guessing not. i can see the Ala-Kart and Badman (built a couple of the Badman kits when I was a kid; the original Ala-Kart was long gone by the time I started building) but the rest are pretty much nonsense. Even if the list is all about nostalgia, no Red Baron or Li'l Coffin? How about the AMT '49 Mercury? The cherry on top is the Lindberg Aerovette kit! What, no Palmers? And if they're talking about the "best models" and not mentioning Tamiya at all the article is completely without merit anyway. Weird.
Daddyfink Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 How about the biggest selling kit of all time! The General Lee!

As for the idea of someone lusting after that Lindberg kit, all I can say is nostalgia is a heckuva drug. Edited March 31, 2020 by Richard Bartrop
Lizard Racing Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I don't know who Haggerty asked and I would not put down someone's opinion, but if you want to find out the top 10 (out of thousands) model kits, right here is the place to go. I would agree about Ala-Kart, especially since it was half of a double kit of '29 Model A Ford.
THarrison351 Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 The Ala-Kart pictured is a Danbury Mint diecast
GMP440 Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I gather they only got reponses from those that might have built a model here and there during their lives. Would have been interesting to see comments on that review from those that live and breathe the hobby like we see here on this message board.
