This is a post that is related to a post in the old diecast section.  Jada 1958 Cadillac from Nightmare on Elm St.  Just one photo so far.  I was going to put it in that post, but I have no idea where it is and a search turned up nothing.   SO here we go.   I wanted to match Lake Placid Blue of my Fender Strat, but I think this is going to be a bit dark.  I think it is Bahama Blue from DupliColor.  Lid on can was lighter than this.

Thanks.   It has been a while in the making.  I debated on the MCG detail set for the 59 Caddy, but just can't quite justify $17.99 for the set from MCG direct - 10.99 plus $7 shipping.   Seriously?  It can go in an envelope.   I'll find it on ebay eventually.   I'll pay the 10.99 and a couple bucks postage.

I detached the girl passenger.  Filling the hole she left in the seat.  Inerior will be white - again to pick up on the scheme of my strat.  Probably put the top back just to avoid having to build a boot.    I have a stack of 032 plastic sheets that is probably an inch tall that I could make a boot from, but I'm lazy anymore.   I like the paint and gluing process way better than making parts.   Leftover scrap from old job about 10 yrs ago.

I have a set of Franklin Mint wire wheels from the 53.  Simple tube axles although I might investigate putting the 53 chassis under there like I did on the Jada 63 Caddy.

Beautiful color choice!

Thanks for sharing the name of the paint, I have a project that I wanted a good sapphire blue for. This looks like exactly what I had in mind.

It was the only color close to what I wanted when I was at Auto Zone.   It is a pretty color, even if it is a bit dark for my original intentions.

Update on the Caddy.  Found some aluminum tube that fit the Danbury mint wheels.  Cut them, drilled the chassis holes.

Dash is done.  Interior has some white paint on it.  A few photos below.

Little update.  Almost there!  A couple more hours and might get it done.  Not much to tell other than what you see in photos.

The paint and trim came out really well.

Still got a ways to go on the trim.  Not all in place and got to foil it as well.  But thanks all.
