JPL-ACE Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Hello, I built 1/25 polystyrene cars from 12 to about 30 years old. About 4 years ago I had a serious accident (cracked my spine in 2 places). After months of bed ridden, wheel chair, walker, cane and all the rehab they had, the rehab woman said if I wanted to improve more I would need to do it myself by working with tiny things. I dug out all the old models I had put away and started a web site to document things. scalemodelcars.weebly.com if you want a look. I hope they allow websites. Now I am 73 and I need to continue with the site as my hands (and feet) are still tingly but they dont seem to be improving noticeably but the site also helps me keep Alzheimer's at bay (I hope). My goal for the site is to build models of my favorite real cars I have owned (or in some cases still own). I cant work on the real ones much though I am trying. So, talk to ya later.

misterNNL Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Glad building models is having a positive effect in your recovery. I have built during recovery from some surgery myself so I know how rewarding it can be.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Welcome on board Gary and I hope you will find some positive vibes in this wonderful hobby to keep you busy and active. Too cool seeing that this hobby still be attractive for «experienced people» I would say!!!
Husky1943 Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Welcome Gary! Tenacity is an underrated attribute. Good on you, and continue recovering.
