What would be the best way to attach Photo Etch to Photo Etch?

I have a Photo Etch Mustang grill, that does not have the center light holes, I need to put two holes

in to attach the light bezels. What is the best way to do so?

On part 4, I want to, only use the 2nd-4th bars, and I also need to shorten the part. Do I need P.E. scissors or can I use something else to cut it with?

Sorry about the photo sizes....

I mostly use epoxy. I put the piece upside down on a sticky note. Then I can put a thin coat on the back of the part. The sticky note will hold it as I position it on the car.

I’ve never used photo etch, but it looks like the etched grill piece has quite a different radius at the bottom than the kit has.

Another issue, looking at the Grill opening from the model, it has a lower Grill also. Before you start chopping these parts off you might want to check with your supplier to verify they sent you the correct part. They may not of understood exactly what Grill you were needing.

Yes you will need dedicated P.E. cutters. I keep mine in the box with my P.E. parts to avoid grabbing it on the bench to cut something else. This will dull them rendering them useless.

It looks like you have a resin grill?  The P.E. kit is probably for a stock grill opening.

That PE set you have there is for the '65/'66 kits.

That front clip is from a '67 kit.

You have the wrong sheet for the car.

MCG did do a sheet for that '67 Shelby kit but I can't find a listing for it anywhere now. [they show it on their home page though]

PS, both sheets they show at the top of their home page seem to be no longer available.

Epoxy it a good adhesive for photoetch. But most photoetch is either brass or MCG uses nickel sliver. Both chan easily be soldered. Problem is to do this cleanly.  If the photoetch is stainless steel then it doesn't solder as easily as brass.

I've got an email into them for that reason.

Tom, - that's what I suspected, dedicated P.E. cutters. No, that white part is the kit part.

Steve -Yes you are correct, it is the wrong part, I too thought I saw one for a '67 Shelby.

Looking at the model piece I'd try back sanding it. Might be a lot easier and more true to scale.

Just got an email from MCG, they will be releasing that sheet in the "near future."
