I build Fri & Sat nights. I can not for the life of me build worth a hoot during the day or work week. I do nothing but make mistakes if I do.

I guess that makes me a "Vampire Modeler"

I do a lot of my building between 4 am and 5 am,when I leave for work. I try to get in a few minutes before bedtime(doesn't always happen) and on saturday evenings, a couple of modelling buddies come over and we build/watch whatever movie is on the sci/fi channle....Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man.........

pretty much anytime. being a full time college and a part time worker I have a surprisingly large amount of free time. I don't work weekends. and my day usually ends around noon. (I work early, and the days I don't work I have class early the morning. so from about 1pm to about bedtime (around 10-11 pm most night). i'm free. other then doing homework. which I actually enjoy doing.

I build whenever I get time, mostly in the evenings and on weekends, but as of late I have been too tired or too distracted with other more important things.

I'm fortunate in that , being retired, I can go downstairs an "play" whenever the mood strikes. Therese works during the day, 8 to 4, so I do different junk to stay busy. Like hang out here. But I get bored, an I can't eat, caz I'm watchin my diet, so I just go down an mess around, till I GOTTA stand up. The ol back AIN'T wat it used to be!But yeah, I'm lucky!

I haven't ever figured it out, but I seem to work best in the evening. I have the opportunity to model during the day sometimes but it just doesn't seem right. After dinner seems to be perfect. Pete J

every night fter the kids go to bed. I try to get 1 or 2 simple things done everynight, even if that means just spraying some parts outside...

Like george53 I am retired and can go to the plastic dungeon and build almost anytime that I want. I do prefer mid-mornings or early afternoons, but never seem to make it at these times.

With the wife working a full time job, I help out with the housework and that kind of shoots down the early part of the morning. Than of course have to factor in my favorite soap operas, witch kills most of the rest of the morning. Than you have to figure in a nap, as your worn out from working off the honeydo list.

In the late afternoon the boy gets home from school, so than its clean up after him and his snack, and help with the homework time.

Than by the time homework is done its time to start supper, so the wife can come home and finish it, as cooking is not one of my favorite things to do.

So by the time all this is done and supper is over, mid morning and early afternoons are shot, so after supper, the dog and I head down to the basement to build, me building and her laying on my feet under the bench.

After all there is no better way to end the day, building a model with the dog at your feet

I build evenings and weekends.

Time is pretty tight right now because I'm really busy at work. I do kitchen and bath remodeling and now is the time everyone wants their work done before the Holidays. Also, I'm the Vice President of a small Sportsmans club in my area and its election time and dues are due and I handle all of that, plus planing of all holiday festivities for our membership. After the first of the year things will calm down and I'll get back to building on a more regular basis.

I work 3rd shift, so I usually get an hour or so in the morning before the family wakes, and weekends I keep my same schedule, so after my wife goes to sleep around midnight I have the rest of the night to the bench or in the garage. 3rd shift pretty much blows, another 5-7 years and I can probably get on day shift :blink: . I have never had more time to model, so I guess I can't complain too much.

I like to build for and hour or so after my 7-3 at work. Building after work helps me cope with the insanity. I also like to actually accomplish something on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Some times I do get stuck away for work for extended periods of time (sometime a month at a time), so my building comes to a stop. Models don't travel when on airplanes and I don't think hotel staff would like me spray painting in my room.

I work around 60 hours a week between the 2 jobs and I'm up every weekday moring at 5:15. Two days a week I'm home after 9 at night, I might do a couple of odds and ends on the bench, but never anything mentally taxing or requiring fine motor skills. Usually shooting some primer or menial sanding tasks.

Monday nights, my bro Will comes over and we retire to the basement modeling area for a few hours. I tend to work better when I'm inspired and its always good to have someone to ask opinions or otherwise try to shock and awe (it rarely works).

Thursday nights are good for a couple of hours, so are Saturdays and Sundays if I can slink off and avoid household chores. I'm off every other Friday so I try to squeeze in some time before the wife gets home from work.

What he said.

Funny I'll be at work and get all excited about what I want to do with a build when I get home, but somehow at the end of the day all I want to do is eat, lay around and sleep. I usually manage to squeeze in an hour or two on my days off, but half of that is getting organised and by then its a toss up between actually building and taking a nap.

I like to try and do some modeling whenever I can find a few minutes.

Lately i have been using my lunch hour at work to take care of the little

things on a kit ( sanding, filing, puttying, etc.) It's a ggod way to kill the

other 40 minutes after I finish eating. Then when I get home, if the little

woman has no demands I try to sneak in some quality time.

I spend an hour or two each evening starting around 5:30- 6:00. I work 6 days a week so I don't find a whole lot of extra time for modeling.

I'm the same way. After dinner, if I sit down to watch TV, I'm done for the night. I have a couple of cars I'm trying to finish for the LIARS show on 11/08 and its gonna be close. All I have to do is avoid the couch and I might make it.
