fordf-100 Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 This is one I just finished. It’s the pre assembled diecast of I believe George Poteets or it could have been a Posies diecast; can’t remember! Anyway I saw this type of build awhile ago in one of the magazines (can’t remember which magazine it was.....BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH memory!) the builder removed the second chrome strip from the side or possibly both and made a stock looking wagon. I picked this up in a lot of stuff and it was assembled with both bumpers upside down so I figured I would try to change it up! I removed the lower chrome on the side and filled the hood vents, that was basically the body mods. I changed the steering wheel painted the interior to match the outside, changed the wheels and tires and that’s about it! I thought about a different style two-tone but wanted to keep it simple, wish I would have used a lighter blue instead of turquoise. Bare metal foil was very tough as the edges of the chrome are very “soft” , I thought it came out ok and I would like to do another but next time remove all the side chrome and put a thin one down the sides to represent a more base model! As always comments welcome!
randyc Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 That looks GREAT! I sold one of those wagons off without a thought to fixing it up like that. Wish I had it back now! Great work!
cobraman Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Really does look nice. Is that a Dalphine in the back ?
Tom Geiger Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Phillip, was this the one you saw? It was built from that same diecast by my friend, the late Todd McWilliams. I own it now.

That is much more factory correct than mine, I think I went over board with the side window chrome! Edited July 15, 2020 by fordf-100 Add more information
