Dave B Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 After completing my take on the Fliptop Cobra (CSX2196) I decided to have a go at CSX3002, originally assigned chassis number CSX2702 but renumbered to differentiate the new coil sprung cars from the leaf sprung earlier models. As I did not have an unbuilt 427 SC I took an unloved fictitious yellow racer I built some many years ago and stripped it. The more I looked at CSX3002 the more work I realised was required, it has a 289 style radiator opening, bespoke dashboard, FIA style wheels and forward braced roll bar. As I didn't have a spare AMT289 I poured a nose from my fliptop mould and used that. The dash was scratch built & I found a spare set of FIA style wheels in my resin parts box. Had fun building it, it is not exact but is my take on the car as raced by Ken Miles at Riverside in 1965. Finished in auto acrylic Guardsman Blue & white and then clear coated. Tks for looking.
