cobraman Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 That is the issue for sure. I have 6 cabinets in the house for my some of my Cobra collection plus 3 storage cabinets in the garage. I may be taking my life in my hands if i bring another cabinet into the house. Not sure I could find a place for one. I don't keep any of my stuff outside of a cabinet of some sort because dust is a problem out here in AZ.

I am going to introduce a bill where serious modelers who do not have full basements can receive a stimulus payment to raise their homes at least 9 feet and include a 1/2 bath for AARP age eligible male owners.

Count me in. I would only need to raise it about 1/2 of that but sadly I do not have a basement because of the water table. I opted for a three car garage (unseated) so I spray paint outside and store and build models on the mail level of the house.

Maybe we need to start an addiction support group. ?
cobraman Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 You do have room for extra shelves in some of your cases. I added to a couple of mine but still tight. I would love a basement but my house is on a slab. Not many basements near me that I know of . We bought our home new and there was one builder doing basements not too far from here but it add 90,000 to a 300,000 dollar home. Could not swing that.

I have a very expensive crawl space that if it was another four feet above ground and three feet more head room it could have been a basement. With a high water table we have a very large “crawl space” that I can stand up in and have six inches to spare standing up.
Ralph Henderson Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 yeah Rex, I thought I had it bad, but by the looks of things I'm just a rookie.. lol...

I received this from Randy at Model Builders Warehouse... Keep your eyes peeled as I will be posting a WIP topic on it sometime in not too distant future. ? Two of these in 1:1 drove right past one of my employer's buildings on Wednesday, obviously had to be replicas. There must have been a club event at the nearby airport. Man, they both sounded wicked!

I saw a video where Peter Brock or one of them guys was saying that the Daytonas were actually too loud and that most of the guys who raced them, including Dan Gurney, experienced hearing loss.
