The legs are telescopic square tube 2 1 / 8 overall length.  Each section is 1 1/8 long inner one closest to truck was 3 /16 tube outer 1/8

The towbar tube body is 1 5/8 long

The middle tube is .305 tube  7/16" long

Outer tubes .248 " 5/8" long

The rectangular section where legs join tow bar is 3/4 long x 3 /16" it was photoetch

Underneath was a small shaped piece looked like T pinning both sections of legs . Real ones this allows legs to extend .

Very nice work Pat  !  Can't wait too see the wrecker bed and chassis this goes with

I was comsidering cutting up the Car hauler body I have. Then again, I might sratch up something smaller to use with one of the old cabovers  like a '41 Chevy .

For those attempting this or any other build requiring gears, I have an unusual source for finding nearly a dozen gears in one place. I will list the sizes in the "tips and tricks" section in a few minutes for those interested.

Got a chance to dig out the ALF/Holmes and took a shot of the boom lock. I cheated and did not use Phil's plan on the lock. I used a simple C channel with a single piece from the other boom to fit inside and then pinned it through a hole

Looks like a decision has been reached. I will attempt to duplicate (or imitate) this.

Me thinks that Chevy  is a little too light for a 750.
