landman Posted September 4, 2021 Author Posted September 4, 2021 Working on cab & body position to determine the depth of the running board skirts. Dashboard is ready.
Mopar - D Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Pat it’s getting better with each update you post. Looking forward to seeing your next update.
landman Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 thanks guys. these are the little chassis tweaks which will help keep everything level. Started on the running board skirts.
gotnitro? Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 This is really starting to take shape now well done Interesting how well the cab and curved sides on the ramp flow together
landman Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 Well a major decision has been reached. Attempts to position the cab so the hood would open always ended up pushing it too far forward. So I followed in the steps of the very wise Mr. Sixties Sam and will go engine less. We can't see it anyway.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Good job separating the hood from the cabin Pat. It must have been pretty tough just looking at the thickness of the walls. What did you use, a panel scriber or the back of an X-Acto blade? Sad that you have to give up the engine, I knew you on this forum as Mr. Engine! ?

I think the whole essence of this model is the lines, what is underneath is irrelevant.
landman Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 Got the cab to line up with the bottom of the body (sort of). Started on the moldings. Please someone remind me not to attempt this again.
Big John Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Great progress, whit walls are a very clean look. here is a shot of a bit different COE carrier I saw at the historic races. Sorry to say I didn't think to get more reference pics. End of a long day and headed back to the car.

landman Posted September 12, 2021 Author Posted September 12, 2021 The moldings are done save for those on the front fender skirts which are in the works.
gotnitro? Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Nice work Pat ! Your really nailing the looks on the hauler, even when it sounds like its fighting you every turn
landman Posted September 16, 2021 Author Posted September 16, 2021 Finished the front skirts & moldings. Made up exhaust outlet plates(for lack of a better name).
Mopar - D Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Continuing to come along nicely Pat Looking forward to seeing your next update.
Big John Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Nice work on the interior, you've even got a CB radio for road reports. The winch is coming along well too. The toothbrush handle / gearbox is pretty trick too. Yeah, the historic races is always a treat.

I saw a real one in this same color headed for a local cruise-in last weekend. It was hood-less and running a bower a two carbs.
misterNNL Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 great project overall. I particularly like the addition of those front wheel well skirts. They add an Art Deco flavor to an already tasty truck.
gotnitro? Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Looking good ! The skirts / ribs tie everything together nicely. Really trick idea w the stacks running up behind the cab too
Mopar - D Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 I like your color choice it looks great! 1
