I think the beading would look good too. For the wheel well maybe try something with the 37 fenders. Maybe you could cut them in half to fit flush against the panel. Also I like the idea of a 427 power plant.

Cheers, David. ??

I don’t have the rear fenders, I got this truck as an incomplete rebuilder.

Either of the two blue colored skirts look like they belong. Looking at the pictures with the other two skirts, they would be mounted pointing the other way when used on passenger cars years ago. The design of the leading edge was to simulate an air intake.

Thanks for the input David, the two long ones don’t really suit the style of the truck.
may least the 40 ford pieces suit the era and keep it blue oval lol

I vote for this one (below).

Love that chopped 3W too. Perfect rubber rake. Did you do the chop?

The Blue is the way, I have the parts sitting in the purple pond of paint despair atm.

the 32 was an unknown resin (possibly jimmy flintsone) it’s most certainly not one of Ed Flucks fine castings. It does have a build thread buried in the wip car section.

in other news I’ve had this built FE staring at me on my bench for almost a year, it will find its way under the hood.

That last pic with the 1/2 round details is headed in the right direction.

That big blank space towards the front is just begging for some detail. Either add a door that would indicate storage, or add some simulated bead rolling which would be added in real life to keep that panel from bending. You could use the same 1/2 round and just add a few strips of different length to fill that space.

Here's a quick and dirty version done with my computers snipping tool

Small update, got the arch skirts in place, spent most of my bench time messing with the in progress cabinet today

Back on the bench. I wasn’t happy with the overall height of the wedge… so I cut a wedge out and made it closer to a flat deck.
still some work to do to make this primer worthy

Glad you adjusted the height of the deck.  I've always felt that those wedges were a bit high.  I like what you are doing!

Oh, baby!

After staring at it on my bench for an hour, I’m beginning to like the primer, I may just add the trim pieces and call it done.

Thank you, it’s been a fun build, and a great place to stare at my current mock ups

Man that 37 Ramptruck is looking really kewl.  I'm really liking it.

Thanks Bob, I have the inability of working straight from the box, kitbashing is an art form that I’ve seen others achieve to great success here on the forums and the notion of custom building something that lives in my head unleashes my creativity, some of my builds have started with an idea and one solitary part that I want to use. In the past month I’ve churned out a couple of builds, but some of those have been in the “in process” stage for quite sometime.
I actually cracked open a fresh kit last night as an idea struck me.I literally spent 3 hours going through wheel and tire  combos.

Wow. Your right on. Leaving it in the primer would work well. Can't wait to see it finished with all the trim work.

Cheers, David. ??

Good thing it's not about an inch longer of you'd be shopping for a bigger display case.
