Since the kit was engineered as a curbside there’s alot to do - first - the kit casting for the after - seat bulkhead will serve as the basis for the trunk - and carry some of the hardware i’ll make to brace and support the rear axle and trans-axle housing - will have to make that too …

Some careful research was done for this kit - the torsion bar assembly has the correct shape - but its slush cast - with a flat side - i added flat strip with rounded edges to correct this …

A really good match to your reference picture. beautiful fabrication as always Andy. I'm intrigued by this design. Looks like a classic leaf sprung live axle but with this added 'thingy' articulated to the frame and attached to the diff. Fancy Italian Panhard bar?

Thanks PR - the triangular stabilizer is probably serving the same purpose as the Panhard bar - the rear suspension on the 1953 A6GCS had all of the design features of Maserati’s pre-war race cars - solid rear axle - quarter elliptic springs - friction dampers - and links/arms that seemed to go here and there - two years later both the Maserati 250F and 300S had independent  rear suspensions  - they got there - i think - before Ferrari …. Now to that axle ….  Lots of Evergreen tube, sheet, and rod …. and lots of cutting and sanding - partly done on a Sherline lathe -

This was a UK series of books that re-produced contemporary mag articles on - in this case Masers - the publisher did a bunch of them - its just bl wh - but the old articles had drawings or cutaways that are really helpful - and some of these havent yet migrated into the ‘net …. Used copies always pop up on the old book seller sites - sometimes pricey - sometimes not -

Here’s where it goes - so the next problem is to locate it properly - by making the various and sundry arms and links that suspend it - will start with a mockup with the ground  clearance - which happens to be included in the  drawing - not quite 6 inches -

Looking awesome, Andrew. Everything looks like it is fitting perfectly. Looks like you have some great ref drawings to work with.

Wow, Andrew, I just jumped in on this one. This is what I call a Master Class  build!! Between fabricating everything except the body, and the attention to detail while making it all, I bow down!

It seems that you like details Andrew, and in any case, you do not lack imagination and dexterity sir! 👍

It must be said that a Maserati deserves special treatment and you are invested in it as I can see! 😉

Thus far - AMF - the Dodge Demon build is laying waste to this poor old Maser - gonna have to machine something - maybe the brake drums - just to keep up ….  And save me some Evergreen - don’t use it ALL up … and note to any forum visitors who haven’t perused the Drag WIP threads recently - there is a really cool Dodge Demon under constrution there …

Going back to your thread from the beginning, I noticed that one of the best reference images for your project was the one where the car flipped onto its roof.  This shows how rare your bird is but we take everything that passes, the misfortune of some makes the happiness of others!

By the way, thank you for publicizing my project but I see that you do everything necessary to keep your admirers well served!  I'll come back! 😉
