iamsuperdan Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 This is a very interesting read! https://www.thedrive.com/news/37925/we-found-fords-incredible-turbine-powered-semi-truck-big-red-thats-been-lost-for-decades
Richard Bartrop Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Nice to know that it's still around and in good condition. Thanks for sharing!
Captain Spaulding Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 That's quite a read, never heard of it until now. Makes you wonder how many concept vehicles thought lost are still out there.
vincen47 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Very neat article. I do hope that when the time comes, the truck finds its way into the Henry Ford Museum’s collection.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I just read this story. Lots of words but very interesting. I too had never heard of Big Red before. Apparently there was a scale model of it too. It'd be cool to see someone scratch build this thing.
Force Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Very interesting, the big three was experimenting with gas turbines back in the day and had many test vehicles with turbine engines. Unfortunately the trailers seems to be gone for this one but it's cool the truck is still there.
MeatMan Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 I read it as well. It was nice when the companies spent the resources to produce futuristic vehicles. Although a few turn up here and there you just don't see that kind thing.
peteski Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Those are all very cool looking concept vehicles. Um, except for those weird Mercedes bubble trucks with strange "foreheads" and angry faces. However, I really like the rotating 3-spoke windshield wiper idea.
