We are not going to get into the practice of trying to eliminate every ad that someone is tired of seeing. We will of course do our best to get rid of the ridiculously offensive ones that sneak in from time to time. Lets see what the ad companies throw at us next week. They sure do keep Dave on his toes.

Are you guys aware of this issue with the homepage too?

Just letting you know in case you weren’t...

I can't get on this site on my iPad. It keeps telling me Safari certificate for this site has been expired. It also tells me another site is disguising it as Modelcarsmag.com and is a threat accessing my financial and personal info. I can get on here no problems with my phone or computer.

We updated our security certificates because the old ones had expired. Clear your browser cache and try again.

Here's how to do it on an iPad:

Just who do the useless messages we type asking for the ads to stop actually go to anyway?

What are you saying here Tom?

Dave has to spend an awful lot of his time adjusting server side settings every time the ad companies change their ad setups. The ads will never fully go away, it is revenue that keeps this board running.

If folks truly can't stand it anymore and can no longer scroll past them, they can install an ad blocker.

All of this is in an effort to keep this site free to use.

No insult to anyone intended. I simply asked who actually sees the message that I click on and send. I didn't know if the moderators saw them or if they were seen by the business that posted them got them. Our moderatators do a thankless job and I certainly appreciate their efforts. Thanks to all.

Got it, I miss understood.

I assume it goes to the ad companies. They more than likely will not do anything about the ad, since they are paid to put it in front of as many people as possible.
