Zippi Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) Not my best work and boy did this one kick my back side. Other than the engine nothing in this kit wanted to fit right and the paint didn't turn out very good. Couldn't even get the body to fit the frame very well. I guess that's why I like trucks, the body and bed just set straight down on the frame. The battery fell in one of the sticky mouse traps the wife set out and it started to eat the plastic. I didn't do as much detail work as normal as this kit as it was really starting to get to me and that's always been one of my down falls.....no patients but I'm trying to work on that. Don't beat me up to bad on the comments fellows. Edited April 22, 2021 by Zippi
Mattilacken Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Looks cool lever the less! Some times its Nice to get them done even they did not turn out as good as we want. Btw the Revell counterpart seems better when looking through the boxes, except for the custom taillights.
FLHCAHZ Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 That turned out pretty cool! The detail work on the engine and interior are excellent. Looks like something you would see at our local drag strip
ksnow Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Looks pretty darn good to me. If you can admit to and learn from your mistakes, you'll just get better and better.
Zippi Posted April 23, 2021 Author Posted April 23, 2021 Thanks for the comments guys. Ksnow....I was at Walmart looking for a note book to keep track of all my mistakes but didn't see one thick enough ☺
doorsovdoon Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Cool, love the wheelie bars. Interior colours look great.
TransAmMike Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Looks verrrry good Bob, very nice interior and engine detail. I like's it??
papajohn97 Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Don’t be so hard on yourself Bob, this is a very clean straight build with very nice engine detailing. The almost semi-gloss black is all the rage these days and looks good/ contemporary on this car. Wish my first few car builds looked 1/2 this good! Keep building and posting dude! Gotta get me one of these ‘66 -67 Malibu’s. I learned to drive in my mom’s aqua colored ‘66 Chevelle HT coupe with that sweet little 283 small block. Thinking back, my parents were really brave to let me drive there nearly new (2 yr old) beauty around the neighborhood, I was nervous as hell gripping the wheel until my knuckles turned white. What a nice car memory.

What a nice car memory. Thanks for the comments man. I think I'm a little bit to much of a perfectionist. I had a 65 Malibu back in the day with the 283 and sold it to buy a 66 Mustang with a 289 High Performance engine. I learned to drive in my grandfathers 1957 Studebaker.
