Zippi Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I was using my #11 blade going along the door gaps and slipped a couple time. What's the best way to repair this?
peteski Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hint: do all the major body modifications (like cutting out doors) *BEFORE* applying primer or paint.
Tom Geiger Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 And put some tape to either side of the groove. When you go off track, the tape gets gauged, not the body!
Dodge Driver Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I switched to a dedicated scriber tool, which improved my scribing. I personally like this one.
Bainford Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I use Gunze Mr Surfacer, dolloped on with a brush. It dries quickly, then sand. It feathers out beautifully. It works so well that I can relax while scribing. I used to find panel scribing nerve wracking, especially tricky corners, for fear of a slip. Now, knowing I can easily and seamlessly repair any slip, I don’t worry about it. This allows me to scribe with confidence, and being more relaxed I found I made fewer slips. Win win.
