Luc Janssens Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Got your attention now didn't I ? Anyway, for argument's sake, let us assume this is true and some model company is looking to release Street Machine versions of existing kits, kit like for example; '60s 'early '70s Mustangs, Chevelle's, Coronets, Chargers, GTO's, Torino's, Chargers, etc.... What are the parts you think must be included with these? How to proceed: - Pick a model kit - Pick the era (70s/'80s/'90s style) - name the parts you would like to see included (please be specific) - Idea for artwork/decals And repeat as many times as you have ideas for..... Thanks, and happy creative thinking! ? Luc
LDO Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Pro/Street Mercedes 560SEC. Revell 560SEC kit. New back halved chassis. Centerline Convo-Pro wheels from Revell Jukebox Ford. New wheel backs to fit Revell Pro/Street tires, or new tires to fit the Convo-Pro wheels. Tool up a Mercedes M119 engine with a custom intake manifold that has a twin screw supercharger in the lifter valley blowing air up through and air/water intercooler. Have an optional twin turbo setup with the turbos poking through the hood on either side of the big cowl induction hood scoop. Also have an optional 8-71 supercharger poking through a stock hood. I tell ya, Revell is making a HUGE MISTAKE by not doing this. Just kidding on that mistake issue. But I would buy one.
LDO Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) But seriously- Pro/Touring or Pro/Street versions of: Monogram 1969 Torino Talladega. The looong fastback would look cool in either style. AMT 1966 Galaxie 500. Such a cool car. It needs bigger wheels and tires, and an EFI Ford 4.6 DOHC or Coyote. (Doesn’t the AMT Vickie have a 4.6 DOHC?) AMT 1967 Impala. Another long fastback. Large diameter wheels. EFI big block with valve covers that say 572c.i. or 632c.i. Include a second set of valve covers that are smooth, plus decals for them with other displacements or graphics. Pro/Street version would have a rear wing big enough to launch F-18s. AMT 1965 Riviera. A Gentleman’s hot rod. Give it a modern EFI power plant. Chevy LS or Buick 425. Pro/Touring only on this one. New interior. AMT 1966 Riviera. Different body style, and boy does it look nice. Pro/Touring. Give it a nice interior, like something that would come from Chip Foose or Dave Kindig. Snake45 Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) Put me down for '70s (or even late '60s) style. Exact kit doesn't really matter to me. Just give it: *Cragars or Torq-Thrusts or Keystone Klassic Kustomags or dish/slot wheels, better yet any two of these. *Open wheels, especially deep ones for the rear. *Tall, wide treaded rear tires, and slicks. No need to go much above 12" wide or less than 10". *Tube headers. *2x4bbl with choice of low-rise or tunnel ram manifold. *Couple different kind of hood scoops/lumps. *Traction bars. *Aftermarket steering wheel. *Hurst T-handle shifter with floor boot. *A braced roll bar wouldn't hurt. (Don't need a full cage.) Box art: Assuming this is part of a 4-8 model series, on the box art, show the car lined up on the street with another member of the series, with a couple more members waiting their turn behind. stitchdup Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 A proper drag beetle with vw engine, and in 1/24 since the vast majority of vws are in that scale. It wouldn't need to be a retool either as the bodies and chassis are already done. just some extra engine parts, wheels and a cage. Id buy loads of them
Mattilacken Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Chevy 454SS manual transmission, aftermarket tal welded valve covers, high single plain intake with a big Holley carb. Electric fans. A nice set of aftermarket seats. And some nice wheels, maybe the ones from Doms Roadrunner. Stock decals third gen Camaro with LS3, turbos, aftermarket filters and a t56 transmission. Sparco seats and steering wheel. Six or 8 point cage. Ford 9inch rear with wats link. Forge line split wheels, 18 fronts and 19 rears with fat meat..... forth gen trans am with the above ? ‘69 Camaro with the above. ‘70 Chevelle with the above! ‘74 Pepsi Chevelle with the above.. you might say I am stuck to a certain type of muscle cars... ?

On Swedish eBay, do you want me to get it for you?
1972coronet Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 I'm going to mention variations of recently restored / reissued kits... 1963 Nova Wagon : New chassis plate with separate subframe , free-of moulded-on exhaust , springs , axle / differential . The LT-1 from the 1970 Z-28 with period custom options , and choice of a TH-400 or 4-speed . Floor shifter of either a Hurst 4-gear or a Dual-Gate ; gauges / tachometer . Four lug custom wheels for the front , and five lugs for the rear ; period correct wheels and tyres , including plain steel wheels for both . A full complement of decals of vintage sponsors . 1964 Cutlass F-85 / 4-4-2 Hardtop and Convertible : This kit already has lots of cool vintage parts as options ( I love those custom wheels ! ) , but could use some c.1969- c.1978 equipment to compliment them : chromed steel wheels ( from the Pontiac S.D. ) with redlines or RWLs ; some Lowrider equipment would be sweet , too ( 13" Cragars ; skinny pinstripe white walls ; organ pipe speakers ; Bellflower Pipes , etc. ) . Throw in the W-27 Olds aluminium differential as an option , along with an updated frame / chassis ( nothing overboard ; just separate suspension and exhaust in simplified form ) .

I appreciate the offer Anton but I already have 2 of them. Its not a bad kit for its time but the engine is pretty blobbular compared to current kits 1
matthijsgrit Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 (edited) Luc, is Pro-Touring possible in your vision/assumptions? If so, and just for example 3-in-1 version of an early second gen Camaro. Build stock, pro street or pro touring. Would require different chassis/suspention options (DSE stuff), Baer brakes tubs, wheels and multiple sets of tires, sports seats, colorfull decals for the Pro Street version 90's style. Big Block engine with multiple intake options: carbed and charged or mirror-turboed os stock. Big exhaust. Tiger style roll cage. One may dream, right? This can also be applied to many other cars. http://fastmusclecar.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/1980-70-pro-street-camaro-620x370.jpg Edited June 4, 2021 by matthijsgrit

keyser Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Yellow car is killer. Both spoilers (I like big late spoiler), those wheels (look like current F1 BBS). Both Front ends. 69-70 Mustang with dead on noses be nice, optional Trans-Am parts, Minilites.
