Been doing some rubbing out.

Latest project is the Polar Lights Big John Cuda funny car. Mixed my own candy red and buried the decals under Tamiya rattle can clear. Pretty happy so far. Looks like I missed some compound in a few cracks.

The chassis seems to be a little generic. Slicks look a little small to me. Any suggestions on a better choice?

From one original Tarheel to another, the clear one should be cool. I did the clear 1/16 Petty Charger years ago. They are a challenge.

According to Car Craft January 1969 issue the real car had 13:00x 16 M&H Racemaster slicks.

I appreciate the response. I've been test fitting a few bigger tires. Without some major mods, I don't think any bigger slicks will fit.

I got the kit tires out and measured them and the measured out to12.5 wide and 30 3/4 tall. So the kit tires are pretty accurate.

By the looks of the headers on the reference pic, I need to do away with the upswept header ends. I'll get those done and post some new pics. Been finishing up camping for the year, and haven't been in the model shop much.
