....and pieces.

I started this with a R&R Vacuum Craft resin body, and an AMT Edsel Pacer kit, that I used to make one body before Jimmy Flintstone came out with his resin version of this Edsel Roundup wagon, which is slightly different than mine.

The difference is the door handles. His breaks up the chrome trim on the doors, and I liked the way mine came, just enough to be below the chrome trim, so as not to break up the nice flow of chrome.

Probably lowered 3/4 " to 1", in 1 to 1 scale.

The other difference is that his bodies have the chrome trim line on the door and rear quarter fin and body, molded in place, where mine had no chrome trim lines. So I had to eyeball the door and rear quarter trim with Bare Metal Foil.

No shaky hands or bad eyes allowed here. I just needed a sharp new blade and the right lighting. I can't remember how many times it took to get this foil trim right.

Having the AMT front end on was so nice for having the proper chrome pieces, as the R&R chrome was pretty crude, and no open hood, or under hood detail. It turned out to be a perfect match. Better than I had hoped for.

Anyway, here's some starting pics with the 2 bodies to begin, that help tell the story.

If you notice in the assembly pics, of the 2 pieces going together, the lower part of the front fenders don't match, so I cold bent the lower part of the AMT fenders until they matched.

nice work !  I watched a show called " Pure vision " one afternoon, and the owner modified a Ford wagon . One of the subtle changes was the door pillar, its almost vertical, where all the others slant forward..that tweak changed the entire flow of the car.
