I could just imagine strolling-into a Halford's on a lazy Sunday afternoon , and hearing One For The Road emanating from the store's P.A. haha, it's probably happened, they usually play the radio over the PA 1
doorsovdoon Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 HEMI is looking sweet, but boy, is it a tight fit!
doorsovdoon Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 Rear panel detailed, I used the R/T emblem from the chrome tree. Very nice moulding by Revell.
doorsovdoon Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 Almost done here. Painting the redlines worked out ok. The tyres have a raised line on them so I just sprayed some aerosol on some A4 paper and quickly dropped the tyres on it. Had to do it twice to really bring them out. Got all the little bits painted ready to assemble. Foiling is done, underside is done and the HEMI is ready to go in! I'm loving this build and cant wait to see it completed:)
espo Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I like your idea fore the red line tires. Interior and chassis looks ready to go.
NOBLNG Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Very nice! The red and black colour combo looks great.?
doorsovdoon Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 (edited) Thanks guys. I decided to go with a centre console delete on this. The car I took inspiration from came with no console, it looks surprisingly clean without it. When I went to fit the hood I found it had a bit of a warp to it, so I tried bending it out and "Snap!!" It split right down the centre! Lol. Not a problem though, it was a clean spit and it glued back ok, I just have to repaint it. On a more positive note, the Charger is basically complete, just some decals and chrome trim bits to put on and I can call this one done. Edited November 5, 2021 by doorsovdoon

Dang it, the gel pen did such a nice job too, shame the ink wont set to the rubber. I can send you some redlines mate,

They have a raised line around it's circumference so it was just a matter of dropping them on a sheet of paper with paint on. I have an MPC Charger I might do soon, if I go the redline rout I'll be sure to give you a shout.
doorsovdoon Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 Trunk decal went on like butter and almost positioned itself! I hardly had to touch it. Great decals by Revel. Also got the grill fitted. Somehow I've lost the door mirrors for this, I think I used one my old MPC Charger, no idea where the other has gone, but found some rally sport mirrors in my spares which look the part so went with them. She's really taking shape now:) Just waiting for the primer to cure on the hood before I go painting it, I usually get a paint reaction if the primer is still fresh and I don't want to re-do it again!
Olskoolrodder Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 (edited) I'm loving this! My Dad had a red '68 RT with a black vinyl top (his was a 383/4 speed car though, no Hemi) when I was little (I don't remember it, so would have been between my birthdate in '73 to '77 or so), it's looking great!
