89AKurt Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Here is an idea for a sleeper project, Subaru Forester with a Cadillac supercharged V8. I would add woodie siding, and call it Deforester.
Doug 1061 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Too cool. I think of that old commercial back in the 70s where that old lady hollers Whoop de doo for my Subaru!! I believe it was from a Midas muffler commercial. Been a long time.
Scott8950 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 (edited) Here's another that would be a fun build. Edited December 10, 2021 by Scott8950
Erik Smith Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Probably no head gasket issues, at least.
Rodent Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I am thinking that a built 2.5 Turbo retaining its AWD system would probably be almost as fast, and it would handle a lot better.

That 2.5 fully dressed with turbos is around 400 lbs. A fully dressed 6.0 LS is around 460 lbs. So not much weight difference. Take the ls engine and do a cam swap add some 1.6 or 1.7 rockers with some 1 3/4 headers and the built 2.5 is no match.
Joe Handley Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Not to mention that the LS-A that was swapped in there is making more power off idle and ramps up as the revs increase where the Subi motor really wasn’t making power until 4K or higher. I did find it interesting that the CTS-V-2 engine and trans were only .5” longer than the flat 4 and STI 6 speed were.
