bbowser Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 (edited) V-12 twin-turbo diesel engine in a race car? I really enjoyed building this Revell kit, a departure from my usual subjects. It is an older issue I got off ebay and I think the decals must have gotten damp at some point because I had a devil of a time with them. They would NOT release from the paper backing even after many minutes of soaking, I had to use my tweezers to get underneath and peel them off, very tense work. All in all I think it came out well and looks good on the shelf, an important milestone in racing history. Comments welcome, thanks for looking. The engine cover fits better than the photos, I just realized Edited December 16, 2021 by bbowser
Rich Chernosky Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Looks real good Bruce, you did an excellent job.
Gramps46 Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I agree with Rich you did a super job with this one.
Keavdog Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Nice job. Is the real car aluminum or silver painted? Either way the metal finish looks good. Such a cool car.
TonyK Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 You did a nice job and glad you enjoyed the build. I bought a couple of these when they came out planning on doing the various drivers but after building the one I don't really want to build another. Maybe someday. btw, your paint looks real good.
Nacho Z Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I really wish they would do more cars like this. So much to choose from. You did a nice job on this, Bruce! She really looks the part.

The real cars were painted silver. Saw them at Road America, Road Atlanta and Sebring...The cars were fast and really quiet with pretty much a woosh and sound of the air going over the body/tire noise at high speed. Really a spectacle!
bbowser Posted December 19, 2021 Author Posted December 19, 2021 Thanks for all the nice comments. Paint is Tamiya gloss aluminum, great stuff.
