They are kinda expensive on "the bay", so it will be nice to have a freshly minted one hopefully not molded in yellow.
Justin Porter Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Probably the very best of the 1/24th scale Monogram muscle car tooling. I'll be quite happy to get those onto my shop shelves.

Yes, other than the slightly clunky appearing headlight surrounds it's one of Monogram's best. Here's a nice build to see what you can achieve: 1
Dragonhawk1066 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 (edited) Thanks Casey! I consider this a very high compliment to have a build linked as a nice example of a kit. If indeed this kit is being re-released, I will have to buy a couple more to replicate a couple of friends' cars. Edited December 31, 2021 by Dragonhawk1066
Spottedlaurel Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Good to see it out again. I enjoyed doing one back in the '90s: It went together better than the GTX behind it and still looks good on the shelf. I regret not buying the custom version they also offered. Very period box art as I recall, did they change/add much?

The custom version has some incredibly 80s saw blade wheels and a dual quad tunnel ram intake with velocity stacks. Also a hood with a corresponding hole for said intake and big tires and lift blocks for the rear.

Yeah, the "airbrushed" style graphics from the original custom version are very '80s: The Revell-Monogram release included some better(?) graphics: 1

I may still have a set of the purple decals. Both sets are definitely of their era.
1972coronet Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Scrap the moulds for those hideous wheels, please ! They were ugly when they were new , and they're even worse 30+ years on. Fireball to the rescue ! 1 1
Mike C. Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 I started this one a few years ago but never finished it.

Mr mopar Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 I always like the Monogram 1/24 muscle cars and this one was one of my favorites ,Like the new box art to car in white !
KWT Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Definitely looking forward to it. "Hideous" wheels and all. I actually wish they were options in more of the monogram era kits 1
Merkur XR4Ti Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 This is one of Revell's very best efforts and I'm glad to see it again. I built a yellow version of the original, will likely pick another up to do in a different color. It's a fantastic kit.

keyser Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Didn’t the original caster pass away? I was going to order that conversion well over a decade ago, and ?Ron? passed away iirc.
